Well on the 12th I ordered the Moisturizing Cream / Detangler and Define & Hold Curl Cream Gel. Checked my shipping notification , it wont be here until the 19th.

I tried the moisturizing cream, the gel, and the spray. The spray I could definitely do without, seemed like regular old aloe vera to me but I got the free sample size so it's cool that I got a discreet bottle that I can fill with whatever I want and take anywhere. The gel had a pretty strong hold, but was kinda sticky. It really defined my curls and gave em "hang". Its a lot like kccc (which i prefer because its available on ground). I still have more than half of the jar, but only because I figured out that gels just aren't my thing. The moisturizing cream was very moisturizing and I really liked it's frothy texture for some reason. I really wish that I used it in different ways though. I used the whole jar in one day because I was detangling after taking down a sew in. I wouldn't buy any of it again, only because it's nothing ground breaking/super impressive.

Well.. Shida Naturals shows her vids as well as other YTers reviewing the products on her main site, so I guess she's not necessarily an infomercial, but definitely a well posted opinion.

I have the cream detangler. It's actually not bad. Lightweight yet moisturizing, and was nice to use under...I think it was ecostyler.

I actually did a review of all her products and then I did another review when I went to her salon and got my hair done. I really like the moisturizing cream and the curl refresher for my hair. The ingredients are of great quality too.

Check out my reviews on my youtube channel (link below), the videos are called ShidaNaturals product review and IvyCharlaine has been Shidanaturalized. Hope this is helpful :blob8:

ok I received my products today.

The moisturizing cream/detangler smells lemony. I like the scent. Its frothy, like whipped cream . It looks to be light.

The Define & Hold Curl Cream smells like a light grapefruit pledge lol. It moves like flax seed gel or gelly does.

Im going to try it out tonight when I get home.

ok so my first thoughts are If youre heavy handed be very careful with the Moisturizer/Detangler. This stuff is so light and airy , its like what I would imagine a cloud feels like. I can see myself going thru this very quick if Im detangling in small sections, however a small amount does cover your head.

It also foam on the hair immediately. After cowashing , I applied it and finger detangled it in. Not bad

The Define and Hold Curl Cream is very light. It reminds me of the old donna marie curling cream that used to be in a jar. Its not as gelly as I thought it was. I think this should have a pump because I was spilling it all over the place due to it moving a lot in the jar. It went on light but now my hair feels heavy.

So far, its looking pretty good. The only gel that holds my hair down and elongates it is Ecostyler, even KCCC doesnt do that, it give me tight curls to my head.

This goes on like flaxseed gel, very light but its curling my hair like KCCC. I have a feeling Im going to like this though. I will upload a picture soon as I take one
  • CerendipityCerendipity Posts: 5,091Registered Users
ok so usually when I start something new. I like to use just it so I can see how its going to work alone

    1. My hair looked like I had boogers in it this morning
    2. Rewetting this only made it worse
3 My hair dried crunchy but scrunchable

The Moisturizer/Detangler is the culprit I think, since it foams up I think I should have waited to let it sink in prior to adding the curl cream. Snot like gel on top of foam equals hair boogers

I was pissed this morning , running around trying to get this crap to disappear. I usually do my hair at night because I wake up too early to do it in the morning and have dry hair by the time I get to work.

Tonight Im going to try it again.

I wonder if I can get away with sitting at my desk all day
  • NaturalistaNaturalista Posts: 5,491Registered Users
Yikes, that's concerning since you're more porous. If the formulation was good it should've sunk right in. Sorry to hear.

Hopefully you don't have to leave your desk.

ok so I think I really like this Cream/Detangler. I have never used anything like this. When I say that, I mean the texture of it. Its like a frothy creamy substance.

It makes a great leave in and next day hair refresher ,however I have to add it to soften my hair up after my hair is fully dry.

The gel I think is an enhancer, like what flax seed does for me.

I put on some curly meringue last night after shampoo'n, then layered the curl cream over it, instant clumpage. When my hair dried, I applied a light amount of cream/detangler over it and my hair feels nice.

Im going to have to invest in a diffuser next week. I cant keep waiting for my hair to dry so long.

I really want to purchase this cream detangler again but I cant fully get down with using parabens on a daily basis

I sent an email off to ask about the parabens in the moisturizer/detangler. this stuff was really outstanding but good lord why does it have to have parabens in it?

I've tried Shida Naturals products. The gel was ok. It left white residue on my hair when I tried to wash n go but i do use it to slick my edges down when I use up dos. It doesn't make my hair feel like it's going to break.

The detangler/leave in is THAT BOMB DIZZLE! Sorry. I get excited when I try something that detangles my hair really well. I was so pleased and happy with this product. I saw her stand at the Baltimore Hair Expo and decided to try all of her products. This is by far my favorite product I've ever bought from a non-commercial company. You will be happy with this ladies. I am a fine haired mix of 4b and a little 4a.

I also bought the spray. I use it everyday. :)

Thanks ladies! I will. The gel dried a tad crunchy but a head shake helped out. The dew is 30 so I was a litltle nervous with glycerin as the secon ingredient in the gel but it's holding up well.

Yeah, the detangler is so nice. Thanks to you I'm mad now. LOL!

Update: still looks good today but it stiffened back up somehow by the nightfall. Sleeping on it helped as an sotc, but in the morning my hair seemed dull and still a little wig like. I put some BBB hair oil on the crown.

Maybe I was too heavy handed with the gel. I'll retry it at another point.
