I really liked the end of that speech. I was inspired.

And I'm glad he advocates that gays should openly be able to serve in the military. I don't believe anyone should be judged on something so personal by any of us if they are brave enough and willing to fight and die for our country. It's such an unnecessary feather to ruffle.

I thought it was good that Congress intermingled in their seating. I know it was symbolic, but symbolism is sometimes important. The effect was a more unified Congress, even when they disagreed to the president's points, and that was really refreshing to see.

I think the facts that the parts mixed were inspirational. It makes an attempt in showing some unity. Maybe the rest of the country can follow suit!

Most of my family and friends agree with the bolded. I guess I'm alone in thinking it was kind of silly. I did think it was cute how they were calling it Prom Night and most had a date from the other party. Hopefully they'll decide to actually work together. Wishful thinking??
