Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Anyone have a recipe they would like to share?

Do you use it after conditioner or between shampoo and conditioner? Do you rinse your have with ACV and then rinse again with water?

    I like this recipe:

1/4 cup of ACV (I use regular white vinegar) to 1 cup of water

Some people use as little as a tablespoon of ACV in a cup of water -- I like it more potent for more clarification. ;) It depends on what you like, though. The smell is also probably less likely to stay in your hair the less vinegar you put in, although the smell dissipates after an hour or two. It can be drying, though, so it's best if you only use it once every week or two if you can.

I use it after low poo or CO-washing and conditioning, and I let it sit on my hair for a few seconds before I rinse it out. If you do it in between, it also seals your hair cuticles, so none of the moisture from your RO condish will get in. The trick is to pour from the top of your scalp and let it flow through the rest of your hair, so it gets everywhere.

HTH! Good luck, and let me know how it goes if you try it.

I just wanted to add that I also use white vinegar as opposed to ACV, but I add citrus essential oils (orange or lemon usually, grapefruit is my current fav and when this batch is finished will be using a grapefruit/bergamot mix that I just made and love) to the vinegar and with the oils, it smells great.

I live in a very dry place, but have heard if it rains or your hair somehow gets wet, the vinegar smell comes out with a vengeance.

My recipe is 1/8 c vinegar to 1 c water and I use it as my final rinse. I have very frizzy (working on it!) 3a hair.

I do a tablespoon for every two cups of water. I use this mixture as my final rinse, I don't rinse it out with more water.

    Here's my recipie:

    3 parts peppermint tea
    1 part ACV
    1 squirt of honey
a couple drops of tea tree EO
a couple drops of eucalyptus EO

I use this mix to keep my scalp healthy and flake-free. I use it after shampooing (I don't use rinse-out conditioner) and I lightly rinse it out. Afterwards, I moisturize and style.

Most folks use it as a final rinse after conditioning. Some leave it in and some rinse it out. I lightly rinse to get the best of both worlds.

I just tried this for the first time today ...I did a rinse mix of 1 tbs of baking soda and 2 cups of water (scrubbing my scalp with my fingertips) and then 1.5 tbs of ACV in 2 cups of water (with bergamot and lavender EO's) and lightly rinsed with cool water. My 2c hair still feels like it's got some build up left (it was feeling really heavy -- I have been no poo for only 2 weeks and my hair is producing a lot of oil atm) but my hair is SO much more wavy than it was. I'm chuffed! :D

I am curious tho about the build up. Any suggestions as to what I can do to help clarify more? Use more ACV? Is it true that if I get it wet it's going to smell?! haha! The EOs should help with that, yes?
