Roux Porosity Control shampoo and the corrector & conditioner? I know that it is used for color treated (which I do), permed and relaxed hair. I was wondering if it would help with all porosity issues. The corrector and conditioner has a ph of 4.5.

I may be wrong but I think it's for people with high porosity issues. Chemicals tends to cause that. I know why I was relaxed my hair it was like I could never put enough moisturizer in my hair. It sucked.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

+ 1 about the high porosity. It came up when Dr. Bronner's Shikakai Rinse was discussed about two years ago. I think rcc used it and started a thread about it. I thought that the pH was lower. You may want to do a search.

Thanks for the info ladies. I thought that it was for high porosity due to use after chemical treatments, but a girl can hope....

What are you trying to do?? Low porosity hair isn't a bad thing. At least I don't think so. Once you learn what works, it's really pretty easy.

It's easy in the warmer months, colder months not so easy. I am having a hard time finding a product or products that keeps my hair moisturized during the winter.

You don't list your products or hair properties. My hair prefers the more natural products. Right now, it's a little dry because I got a haircut/highlight today(it will be fine tomorrow when I wet it and use a rinse out.) My hair is in such great shape, the shampoo guy refuses to use conditioner--says that my hair doesn't need it (he just doesn't "get it") I use really rich, moisturizing products all of the time and a lot of protein. I never feel the need to DT because the products moisturize me enough.

I cowash with VO5 Tea therapy and KCKT (I rinse out). I use KCCC as a styler. This is what I am currently doing. In the summer I use the VO5 and HEHH for my cowash and LongAid curl activator as my styler. If I used protein my hair would look like a haystack. I don't really DT during the summer but I need something during the winter.

I didn't find the KCKT moisturizing enough for my hair. You may want to change to something that's richer--Curl Junkie, Marie Dean, Kozama?? You may want to DT to add some moisture.

Thank your for the help and suggestions! I am going to take a look at the websites for the suggested products.

eta: @Kathymack, I have read great things about Curl Junkie Aloe Fix and Curl Junkie Curl Assurance LI. I noticed that you use their products. Which one would you recommend?

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the CJ products. They are really well formulated. Marsha has a great blog, here's a link to get you there: Curl Junkie - Natural Hair Care for all types of Curly Hair!: Using Curl Junkie in Low Dew Points! There are also charts on the website to make product suggestions. If you really get stuck, you can email Marsha at info@curljunkie.com. She's really responsive to her customers.

Some of my favorite products are the Daily Fix, Strengthening Conditioner, Repair Me and Curls in a Bottle. I prefer the Aloe Fix Lite to the Aloe Fix.

I agree wholeheartedly! I love CJ products - they're almost ALWAYS in my HG line-up. ;)

Thanks for links! I was thinking about trying CJ then I saw your thread about the Marie Dean products. Now I am confused about which one I want to try. Do you have a favorite of the two? I am not sure if you mentioned it in the MD thread. I didn't get to read all of the pages. I appreciate all of the help. I will be making a decision and placing a order this weekend. I did a DT with some honey added as Ellepixie mentioned in one of the other low porosity threads. I will be doing another this weekend.

Also, kathymack's faves are pretty close to mine, too. Daily Fix, Strengthening Conditioner, and Repair Me are all in my routine regularly as well as Aloe Fix Lite and Curl Queen. I also use CoffeeCoco Curl Creme and CoffeeCoco Curl Creme Lite. But, I use them more often in the higher dew points.
