Herbal ACV Rinse (for dry, itchy scalp)

FronomenalFronomenal Posts: 712Registered Users
Lately, I've been having problem with dry, itchy scalp. To combat it, I decided to do ACV rinses after my weekly shampoo. I made up this recipe by adding things to the ACV rinse that are good for fighting scalp problems. After using it just once, my scalp feels better than ever. Here is the recipe:

Herbal Hair Rinse (for dry, itchy scalp)
-3/4 part Peppermint Tea
-1/4 part ACV
-2 dollops of Aloe Vera Gel
-1 squirt of Honey
-A couple drops of Tea Tree EO
-A couple drops of Eucalyptus EO

Mix up the aforementioned in a water bottle or other container of your choice. Use it just like a regular ACV rinse.

I hope this helps someone! :)

Yes I do herbal acv rinses as well and looooove it. I will have to try your regimen it sounds great. I add begal spice & peppermint tea to my acv. And I add a few drops of tea tree essential oil. I read somewhere on here that tea tree is good for your scalp during winter months.
What is your ratio for the acv and how much water do you use?
    thank you for sharing this.

    Your welcome!

I fill my water bottle 3/4 of the way with water. Then I pour the water out into another container and brew the tea. Next, I pour the tea back into the bottle, add some aloe vera gel and enough ACV to top the bottle off. I guess the ratio is 3:1 (Water/Tea to ACV).

I like to make an infusion of ACV and hair helping herbs.
I like Lavender, Rosemary, Sage, Green Tea, Peppermint, Hibicus & Lemongrass. They make it smell better too. Chamomile can be used instead of Sage for blondes or highlights.
Just take a nice clean glass jar, fill it up about half way with the dried herbs, then pour your ACV in and put the lid on. Let it sit in a dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking it up every now and then. Strain it and rebottle. I use it diluted, about 2 TBS to 2C shower water.

    Hello beautiful curlies,
So I did an herbal ACV scrub instead of just the rinse on my hair this yesterday evening. I pretty much used the same ingredients:
    ACV
    Honey
Tea tree oil (instead of tea leaves)
    Eucalyptus oil
    Peppermint oil
    Brown sugar (loved this stuff)

I mixed 1/4 c. ACV, 1-2 Tbsp. honey, 3 drops tea tree, 3 drops eucalyptus, 3 drops peppermint, 1/4 c. brown sugar ( I mixed these very well so it's more like a paste consistency)
I sectioned my hair and applied it to my scalp with a hair dye brush, after I applied the scrub to each section I massaged it in to my scalp (feels wonderful), then I let it sit for about 15-20 mins. Rinsed and styled. I loved this scrub my scalp looks and feels clean, I'm definitely using this more often!!!
