Do you fix your hair BEFORE going to the hairdresser?

So I have a hair appt this afternoon and just don't feel like washing and fixing my hair.

I know she will brush it out and it'll look like crap when I leave, so what's the point?

I usually like to look my best when I go there, but it seems like a lot of work to just end up having to do it over when I get home.

I don't get good second day hair, so it's looking pretty bad...am I brave enough to go like this??

I would worry - I almost would rather they see it more natural as opposed to all done up. After all, you are there to improve how it looks, right? Maybe just spray it with a light styler or mist if you are really concerned. Or even clip it partially up. Don't sweat it, remember, you're paying them :)

I try to have my hair the way I normally style it, so she has an idea of what kind of cut I need and how much my hair shrinks. If your stylist is going to cut it the same way regardless, I say heck with it. Why waste time you don't have?

I usually try to have my hair at its best when I go, especially since I started CG and my stylist isn't familiar with it. He pulls no punches when he thinks my hair looks like crap. If I really didn't feel like it and wasn't trying to prove a CG point, I'd throw it in a pony-tail and call it good. I never plan on it looking good afterwards unless he blows it straight. Between the terry towels and rubbing before adding product, it's a lost curly-cause.

I've always worn my hair straight so I just pull it back in a ponytail and go. Since starting to go curly i'd probably fix it so they'd know what I liked.

My rule of thumb is if I am seeing my stylist in the morning I do not do my hair...if I'm going in the afternoon I do it. Can't go around all day with undone hair! :D

Nope, I haven't been. But it would be nice if she could see how curly it actually is when I style it myself. After all the combing when she cuts it my hair is much less curly.

Well I wish I hadn't have had it cut :(

It had been looking really good and for some dumb reason I told her to cut 2 inches. Of course, 2 became 4 and now I don't like my hair :(

That stinks. Why do stylists do that? Don't worry; when it grows out the 3 inches you need it to, you'll feel better. And I bet it grows quickly.

I always go with it done the way I style it. That way I can point out to her if I have trouble spots, etc. It seems to work better that way because then I can get certain spots taken care of they may not be as obvious in the way she styles it.
