Apricot Kernel Oil?

Has anyone ever used it? I hadn't heard of this oil until a few weeks ago (am I the only one? I guess I should have known -- they make an oil of everything!), but supposedly it's amazing, so I'm going to be buying some to seal with! I'm so excited, since this is the first oil I'm buying to use on my hair! If you've used it (or even HEARD of it!! :laughing1:), do you like it? How heavy/light is it? Thanks so much!
Type 2c/3a with lots of hair and a super sensitive scalp! Med/slightly coarse texture, low porosity and elasticity.

And i like it! My hair is nice and soft and especially shiny this time. Now i didn't see a major difference between Apricot Kernel Oil and my mother oils, but there was some. Enough that I could i tell i did something different.
I used it in conjunction with Vegetable Glycerin, Avocado Oil, and a touch of jojoba. Applied it to wet hair, used a plastic cap, then sat under the hair dryer for the better part of an hour.
Nice shiny, bouncy curls!

My experience with the two: I don't like the smell of Olive Oil on my hair and it weighs my hair down too much when i style. So, I just prefer lighter oils so my curls don't droop lol
Avocado Oil and Jojoba oil are also two light oils that pretty much work as well as Olive Oil and Apricot Oil.

From what I understand, sealing is meant to keep the moisture that is in your hair IN, so it doesn't get lost in space somewhere! That's perfect for me, because I just lose more and more moisture throughout the day. I did my normal right-outta-the-shower routine...scrunch all the water out of my hair (and use the extra condish that I didn't rinse out as LI). I then applied my oil. I wasn't too stingy with my oil, since it felt so light in my hair (I'm hearing recently a couple of drops for wavies, but I put a little more in -- us coarsies don't get weighed down too easily!). I put a pea sized amount of oil in my hand and sort of gently smoothed it down the length of my hair (probably from my ears down). I felt like there was still oil on my hands, so did a little scrunching with the remainder of it. I repeated this process again, and I really tried to focus on the underneath layer of my hair, the least wavy but most frizzy and poofy part of my hair. It worked really well -- not a lot of frizz, and my underlayer was great! What I really have to do is learn to use this stuff on 2nd day hair, when the extra diffusing REALLY poofs me out. But, if you do wind up trying it, lemme know how it works! We have similar hair, so I'd be curious to know how your hair responds to it. Mine was definitely more consistent -- don't know how the oil affected it, but as long as it worked, I'm totally okay with that!! It actually wasn't greasy at all, which surprised me. I think that was why I never tried sealing with the EVOO. I was afraid it would grease my hair up. But, so far, my hair hasn't met an oil it didn't like! I might try it with the EVOO next, though, just for comparison.

Aw, you're welcome! It's actually a lot simpler than it sounds. You'll get it! I was nervous, too -- I think because I wasn't completely sure about how much oil to use -- but it worked so well, that I haven't gone a freshly-washed hair day without applying it! As long as you don't go overboard, you should be good.
I bought mine off of Amazon. I honestly haven't seen it in stores! I guess it's not too popular or well-known? I had actually never heard of it until someone I knew told me about it. But, they make an oil of everything, so I should've known better! :laughing7:

I'm planning to use an oil that won't smell bad. I've used coconut oil and olive oil on my hair before and though I really like how they work on my hair, I don't like the smell especially coconut oil.
Thanks
