Just discovered protein sensitive

My natural hair is wavy and frizzy, however after straightening with Japanese straightening for last 8 years, last Dec I started with the keratin treatments. Although they made my hair straight, after about a month after washing it would dry frizzy. So last summer I started the curly girl routine but couldn't figure out why it was still frizzy. Now it has been 4 months since the last keratin and I have 6 inches of natural growth. I noticed as it has washed out it dries less and less frizzy. So does that mean the keratin is no good fr my hair?
I also cut out all protein hair products. I love the way my hair dries normal- no frizz and looks healthy. I guess the point of my post is just a rant of how I can't believe something so simple as discovering protein sensitivity can make a difference in your hair. For the first time in my life I like my hair :)
