2011 Natural Hair Resolutions

What are your hair goals or hair resolutions for 2011?

My goals:

1. Meet and obtain healthy stretched BSL hair.
2. Step my style game up. I cannot rock 2ST every week that is just lame.
3. Nurture my hair from the inside out by eating right, supplementing if necessary and drinking plenty of water.

I am only in month 5 of my transition so my hair goals are somewhat the same as they were last yr. Lol.

    I am planning on:
    1) Continuing to focus on healthy hair vs length
although I am hoping to at least be apl by the end
of my first yr in July (I am currently ab an inch or 2
    past my shoulders).

    2) Continue w/my religious hair regimen (weekly co-
washes, dt, pt, acv rinses, etc.)

    3) Although I know you said hair goals, I am planning
on maintaining my workout schedule/instituting &
maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle that I re-started
in December so that I can finally lose all of the
weight I gained w/my pregnancy. Besides a healthy
lifestyle will result in a healthier mind, soul, body &

Happy New Yr to you all and good luck on all your resolutions:occasion7:!

Recommit to exercise and drinking 8 glasses of water. I've been slacking off the last four weeks, first due to illness and then due to the holidays. My hair hasn't suffered too badly but I know if I don't recommit soon, it will.

Take better care of my ends.

Find protective styles that don't make me look crazy.

    - Take my time detangling better.
    - Remember to moisturize and seal my hair at least every other day.
    - Leave my scissors alone! (I see straight ends pop up randomly and I just snip, snip, snip. I'm afraid if I ever straighten my hair out that my hair will be lopsided.)
    - Stop being such a PJ. So far I definitely haven't stuck to this (I brought four new products today).
    - Drink more water (8 glasses would be ideal), I drink water now . . just not enough.
    - Continue with my cardio regimen.

    Mine is very simple:

    Cut back on spending
Reach Booty cheek length by 2014 (at APL now)
    Drink more water
    Pray more
    Relax more
Try Ayurvedic blends and stick with companies like Qhemet Biologics.

Last year I wanted my hair to grow to APL now I think I do not care. I finally have a group of products and a regimen that work well for me. Perhaps I have found peace with my hair :-)

I think this year I would like to learn new styling techniques, like flat twists and how to braid my own hair.

To reduce my product purchasing and to sell trade or give away products that I have which do not work for me. As opposed to me trying to find away to get it to work.

Daily scalp massages. I know people say they work for hair growth but personally it really helps me unwind from my daily life drama and it feels sooo good!

~Get healthy by eating better, sleeping better and exercising. Take vitamins. I need to be disciplined in drinking more water (healthy hair starts from within)
    ~Daily scalp massages (I'm such a slacker.SMH)
~Keep split ends at bay SOMEWAY SOMEHOW
~Obtain SL by the end of the year. (I'm starting fresh with a TWA this year and I'm on a mission to retain ALL of my length. I'm not cutting. NOT. Cutting. Again)
~Use up products that are "eh" and only repurchase things that really WORK for me.
~Stick to protective styling for a WHILE (with small breaks in between of course)
~Apply my sulfur mix every night (I think it's helping my scalp :) )
~mail my steamer to my apartment and USE IT. Also, deep condition every week

    1) Quit Deep Conditioning
    2) Find a shampoo that works for me
    3) Practice pre-pooing with coconut oil. As of yet, I have no clue how one oils dry hair without tangles and breakage.

    1. Healthy scalp.
    2. Moisturize more often. I notice my hair is much softer when I moisturize more.
    3. Take multis and eat more leafy greens.

-Keep hair healthy as possible. Frequent DCing, and just keeping it moisturized.
-Grow my hair to its full potential. (It was long (BSL max) nearly my entire life so I'm not used to it being so short. And with all this shrinkage...*sigh*
-Stop touching/handling it so freaking much.
-Stop obsessing over how much it is (or isn't) growing and just let nature do it's work.

Healthy hair (moisturized, no/low fairy knots, no split ends)
    Deciding a good detangling method
    Retaining length as it grows
    More henna treatments
    Color my hair (red)
Learning/ experimenting with more styles, especially bolder styles
Developing better flat twisting skills, braiding skills
Rocking more two strand twists sets
    Trying the three strand twist
