Goody Spin Pins

So I got some tonight...a set for our white elephant gift exchange and a set for me while I was at it (they're hard to come by). But I don't think they're working for me. I mean, they hold my hair alright, but the ends stick out beyond the bun. I don't know if this is normal (I wouldn't think so since it doesn't look neat and polished to me), just an issue with the density of my hair, or if I am doing something wrong. My hair should be long enough, and while it is fine, my density is at least medium. Everyone seems to love them, and I want to, but not if the ends are gonna stick out like that. I don't think they have more than one size...but they seem like they're too big unless I am doing something wrong. Any one have some tips or suggestions? Thanks.

I got my sister the goody styling pack for christmas. I pre tested the stuff. :toothy9: It looks to me like the spin pins would stick out beyond my bun (fine, thin hair) at any length. Obviously my hair is too short for it now (chin length). I think it should work fine for my sister's thick APL hair. My favorite of the set seems to be the U shaped pin used to put your hair into a french roll. I just put it in and shook my head, but it seems to work well.

If I don't twist the bun tight, I can get them hidden pretty well, with some practice. I think they might look better with straighter hair though. I have to play with them more, but for right now, my ponytail holder is better with the buns.

I *think* the spin pins are designed more for casual undone buns then they are for neat ones.

The pic looks more sleek and elegant, so I think it is either.

I got some, but I think my hair is too fine for them. I couldn't get a decent looking hairdo out of them, messy or otherwise. I think they'd probably be great for someone with really thick, long wavy hair, to give that bohemian updo look. Hrumph.
2c/3a with 2b underlayer. Fine, porous. Loves protein. But not hydrolized wheat protein. Yuck.
