Unless it is an obvious and drastic difference in length, your 3c hair may just seem longer than the 4a hair due to the fact that 4a hair has tighter curls and more shrinkage, making it look shorter than it really is ... it is common for people to have more than one hair type. If it is a drastic difference in length and your front hair is growing much faster than the back, well, you can't do much about the growth ... but if it suits you you could possibly trim or cut the front part of your hair to make it match the back length better ... and then be sure that your hair is not significantly breaking in the back, because that would affect the growth. Hope that helped :)

    Mz.Preciosa is right :)

My hair does grow faster on the right than my left (it actually does for a lot of people; depends on your dominant hand).

My hair also grows faster in the back than front and my crown and back is mostly 4a with some 3c thrown in the mix with the front being largely 3c.

Yup. Most likely due to texture differences...

I was looking @ my nape and it hangs WAY lower (like 2 -3 inches lower) than the rest of my hair. That also randomly happens to be where my 3b patch is. SMH. And then I have a strip of 4a that runs across the middle from one ear to the other, that part hangs shorter LOL..SMH @ my head.

Tis the life of a natural.

I have the same thing with my hair. My front and crown are thin 3C and hang down to my lip!! Everything else is 4A with massive shrinkage! I generally just put on a head band and go with it. If I wear a WnG I just make a bang in the front and swipe it to the side so that it blends in with the rest of it. DC05 said it....its the life of the natural. I personally won't cut my hair because if I ever flat iron it the strands won't be even. :hello2:

LOL man. Thats what I be thinking like dag there is no point in evening it up because then when I straighten it... SMH You already know, UNEVEN HAIR LOL. Id rather just let it do its thang. I mean it is SUPER obvious like..clearly I have random 3b strands just hanging and the rest is 3c but because of the placement of that patch its right @ my nape and so its like just hanging there. SMH I do know that if I brush it with tighter parts of my hair it will get caught up in the shrinkage of the 3c curls if that makes sense, but when its just loose with conditioner :/

The back of my hair grows faster than the top. Hair at different parts of the head grows at different rates for a lot of people, I've discovered. I've chosen to just leave everything alone, because if I did try to cut my hair to the same length, when it grew out, I could be back to where I started.

You could choose to wear braid/twist outs to lengthen your hair and make it appear more uniform.

Yep! thats the way it is for me also, 3c in the front crown all the way to the back of crown of my head, then 4a from left to right and the back with several clumps of 3b thrown at the nape. I just scrunch the top more when styling, I will not cut the front because it will be uneven and when I measured my hair its all about the same length. Its all good I don't have too much of a shag or mullett.

I have the very same problem. When I do wash and gos it is very apparent as the front is very loose and the hairs in the back compete for space on my scalp to lie flat against it. I mostly wear it in puffs so it doesnt bother me. But you don't have to cut your hair. Try coils and scrunching that area a little more than usual to even things out. But I assure you your hair is probably the same length all around.

Unless its VERY different, a stylist can cut your hair in layers in a way so its not noticeable until you need another trim. My hair is more 3c on the top but the 4a part actually hangs longer at the bottom (have no idea why). When I start to get the tail or *mullet* thing going, I know I need a shape up!

Mines is the same way, my right has more hair and longer the left and my back is longer than my sides and front.

The front of my hair is looser than the back and i noticed that when i straighten my hair the front has grown about 2 inches more than back.

I sleep on my back too. I wonder if it's this or if the tighter texture just doesn't grow as fast or is breaking off. Any ideas?

I'm actually not sure if it grows slower, I really have to research this, but if you can try not to sleep on any part of your head instead rest on your face. Sometimes its not easy but now its just ritual for me, and my back hair is growing more. Or even better, every night, while you're watching t.v. just massage your scalp (mainly the back region) with peppermint oil or nothing at all
