Informant & Agent Provocateur busted

"The undercover FBI informant - a convicted forger named Craig Monteilh - then drove off for 5 a.m. prayers at the Islamic Center of Irvine, where he says he spied on dozens of worshipers in a quest for potential terrorists [because only Muslims can be terrorists, right Tim McVeigh? -BP].

...In the Irvine case, Monteilh's mission as an informant backfired. Muslims were so alarmed by his talk of violent jihad that they obtained a restraining order against him.

...Compounding the damage, Monteilh has gone public, revealing secret FBI methods and charging that his "handlers" trained him to entrap Muslims as he infiltrated their mosques, homes and businesses. He is now suing the FBI."

Tension grows between Calif. Muslims, FBI after informant infiltrates mosque

Plus he got paid $177k tax-free (or rather paid in tax dollars supplied by you and me) for his "services".

Cointelpro is alive and well still, even if they officially say it isn't. :tongue6:

Jenn, would that I had a crystal ball, but I sincerely hope that maybe one day the FBI/authorities will stop spying on their own people..

It's particularly disturbing that the FBI is encouraging/training people to infiltrate generally peaceful groups and attempting to radicalize them, or rather introduce a radical element, in the hopes that the rest will follow so that there is a pretext for a group's destruction.

I'm not feeling great about human behavior today, so I think I'm going to pray for the world to be a better place.

I think I'll do that now, in fact.

I hope your prayers do something, if nothing else, to give you comfort & peace.

..but, then you know what they say: if you never expect anything, you won't be disappointed.
