I'm the one with dark hair.
You can see my curls get noticeably bigger as my hair gets longer.

I tried using a little bit of conditioner to style, but it didn't work with my curls. Right now, the biggest issue i'm having is frizz. I'm considering getting some frizz-ease serum, but I'm not sure. I think the cold weather may have something to do with it. My hair looks awful right now. :(

My hair does very well with silicones, so I'm not particularly concerned about using them.

Well, it doesn't look awful in those pictures!!! It looks great!

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Frizz-Ease Serum. Not even because of the cones. Because it never worked for me. LOL!

    What products do you use?
    Janet ~ Northern NJ
Properties: Dense, Fine, Low Porosity, Low Elasticity

What I used in this photo:
    Cleansing: Suave Tropical Coconut Condish
    Conditioner: CJ Smoothing Condish

Aw, thanks! That was the last decent hair day I had.

I was using frizz-ease take charge, a little suave curl mousse, suave volumizing mousse, and a spritz of suave extra hold Hairspray. I ran out of the take charge, and I think that's why my hair hasn't curled the same way as it did that night.

Right now, I'm testing hair serum and pantene curly gel. I'm really just experimenting at this point.

I also got it thinned/trimmed a bit today since I'm growing it out to be a bit longer than chin length when dry.

I'd say you're at least a 3a. But, I'm wondering if you get even curlier when your hair is longer? You might be a combo of 3a and 3b when it's longer.

I'm wondering if something in the products is affecting your curl..? I've only been CG since October. So, I'm not all that confident about ingredients. LOL! I was hoping one of the other girls would chime in and help w/that end of things. ;)

I used frizz-ease products for about a year, and they slowly killed my hair. I'd say head for the conditioner, herbal essences curly gel (I forget the catchy name), and some aloe vera.

(Not that I've been doing this for long, either....)

    (btw, I love your hair!)
CG since 24/11/10; started 2c/3a, want to become 3b. (Insert "HOPE" and "CHANGE" posters here.)

Products: Suave naturals coconut conditioner, HE TT gel, Aveda curl control on dry hair, and tea tree oil or a brown sugar scrub every so often to remove buildup.

Now that corny brought this to the top again, I'm looking at your pics again... I just LOVE that 3rd pic of you! I love how big the curls are. :)

I know. I already said that. ...Just wanted to say it again. LOL!

Ahhhh your hair is sososososo pretty!!!

My hair also does quite well with the 'cones, so I'm not quite on the CG bandwagon yet.

Have you tried just leaving the conditioner in your hair, not rinsing out? Like, globbing it on, working it in, and then styling as normal (Curly Primer)?
That's what I've been doing and it has been working well: minimal to no frizz, hydrated and healthy curls, and very nice definition. Not sure if it would work on you hair, but it is worth the try if you haven't tried it yet :)

Other than that, I'd probably go Garnier Fructis or Aussie on the products. The Herbal Essence products haven't worked well for me, though I haven't tried all of them yet. But, I really do like the Herbal Essence 'poos and conditioners.
    Just rockin' the natural curls.
