Seattle Curly Gathering "Planning Stages" UPDATED

msrebamsreba Posts: 143Registered Users
Ok.. My guess is to first pick dates available.

Are you available to meet on a weeknight or would a weekend gathering be more to your liking?

And second Location not specific place but area of town.

Downtown?, Queen Anne, West Seattle.. yadda yadda. Where are you and where will you be willing to travel to for said curly gathering.

Thank you.

My schedule is fairly flexible so weekend or weeknights are good except for the weekend of Jan. 16, I'd only be able to meet up at night. The 25th and 30th are out altogether since that's my bday then my SO's bday. icon_eek.gif

As far as location, downtown is pretty cool but parking is kind of an issue there...I'm always partial to Cucina Cucina on Fairview. icon_biggrin.gif

Great! I love Seattle. It's a great town, and with all the moisture, my curls are usually at their best!

I'll be driving to Seattle (from Montana) for the Gift Show and be in town from the 24th to the 30th or 31st. The Show is downtown at the Trade Center, and I can get away during the day. Evenings aren't as good for me, as we're staying with family.

My favorite place is Wild Ginger, but the new Cheesecake Factory on Pike is quite good as well.

Keep me posted. I'd love to meet you all.

Either weeknights or weekends work for me--I have no life! I live on Queen Anne, which is convenient to everywhere but Lynnwood. icon_wink.gif I like downtown because there's the Pacific Place garage where parking is cheap. Right in that general area there's Gordon Biersch, Il Fornaio, Oceanaire, Vons, and that southwestern place but the name escapes me at the moment.

There are also places around Northgate like the Olive Garden--not very imaginative, but usually pretty good. And there's parking.

Weekends are better for me, however, I won't be available on the 26th. I'll be coming from the Redmond area and I'm open for suggestions of where the gathering should be held. icon_biggrin.gif

OOH Vons would be great, hopefully we're all over 21! Gordon Biersch is always fun too. I'm pretty much open to anything but always in favor of a place that serves good drinks.

mtcurl, I've only dropped in at the Cheesecake Factory to pick up some excellent cheesecake, I hear the food is pretty good but its all about the drinks there beerchug.gif

Ok.. looking at everyones preferences. Seems that the 31st looks like the best date. Is that "weekend'y" enough?

And it seems that downtown would probably be the most acessible.

Ok so now a couple more questions

Are we all 21 and over?
Would dinner at say the recommended Cheesecake Factory be good? and then after dinner the Older "kids" can go for a drink at Vons across the street?

I'm in ballard and vehicleless so i will be bussing to what ever location.

And I think someone else mentioned this.. parking at pacific place is the cheepest in downtown seattle.

So how does that all sound? 31st work for you guys?

Please recommend other places if you think the Cheesecake place is to expensive or etc?

I can't make it on the 31st, my SO's bday is that day and he'd be crushed if went out on that day. I totally goofed and posted the 30th earlier...sorry! icon_redface.gif

So, to clarify, the only dates that are totally out for me are the 25th and 31st of January.

MrsRebA, did you post anything about this on the hair board? Some people only go to that board. Just wondering....

Arrrgh...I hate to be the one person that messes up the whole schedule...

Is the 24th or 26th okay instead? I'm in total agreement w/ the Cheesecake Factory.

that sounds great the 31st. Cheescake factory sounds good. Should I bring my 16 year old daughter(who is by far the most beautiful curly you will ever meet).

*glee* There are a whole bunch of curlyheads in Seattle!! I'm brand new to this curly talk place, and now I'm so excited. I'd probably feel a bit weird going to a gathering of people I haven't at all spoken with, but I'm excited that there are more curly heads out here (I don't actually personally know any curly heads like me, so I have no one to give me advice!) so I can beg and plead for recommendations on salons and products.

So far I've cut my own path, and found stuff that works for me, but I keep finding it gets better! I recently bought an ion diffuser, and WOW. Frizzies-b-gone. So I know there's more out there, product wise and cut wise.

Are there other places online where Seattleite curly heads gather?

    Thanks very much. icon_smile.gif
