HCG Diet and Product Use

Hi all curlies/wavies:
I recently went on the HCG diet in August, lost 38 lbs, and maintained it fine since late September. I am going on another round - this time a very short round - and I will also be going on another short round in April until May.
This diet has been my lifesaver, because I'm diabetic, and if I didn't lose this weight, my doctor was going to strongly recommend bariatric surgery, and possibly dialysis.
I'm not here to discuss the diet per se, but I would like to know any other CG's who have been on this diet and what products they felt were on the "safe" list to use.
I am doing it with supervision, and they recommend no leave-in conditioners, and currently, I pretty much use all Deva products, with some others, but no silicones or sulfates, and only glycerin if I need it.
I want to maximize my results, so I have cut out traditional deoderant and moisturizers and cream makeups for my face, but I don't want to blow my hair straight while on the VLCD phase of the diet.
So any curlies on HCG - what did you use in your hair?
Appreciate the answers!
Jill

I am looking for those who have already been on this diet and used CG friendly products that might not interrupt the protocol too badly.
Not trying to NOT answer your question, but I have experienced hostile reactions to this diet, which is considered a pretty severe diet. For me, it's been a lifesaver, literally.
So that's why I put in my post that I didn't necessarily want to discuss the diet per se.
But you can find all the information out there on it by searching on that term.

I didn't worry about hair products this time, and I've still lost quite succesfully.
I'm not sure petroleum jelly is on the list - be careful with Vaseline - it's quite oily.
I found some Aloe lotion on the internet - L'Bri - it seems to be fine. And Corn Husker lotion is awesome!
I stopped using any creamy makeup, and I use the Alba moisturizer, but the worst thing is finding a decent cleanser that is not oil free. I'm using the Neutrogena one, but it is quite drying. I use the witch hazel over it and then moisturize with the Alba.
But as far as CG and my hair - haven't changed a thing this time, and I'm still losing quite satisfactorily.
I was a lot more strict in R1, but still not cheating in R2.
Good luck! I feel it is quite simply THE most amazing diet I've ever been on. I am wearing clothes from 10 years ago that when I was THINNER fit worse then they do now. I was probably 10-15 lbs thinner in these clothes, but now, they fit better!
I'm quite impressed with the quality of no-sag and your skin on this diet.
And as usual, after the first 3-5 days, you're not hungry. I was for the first 9 days R1 because I didn't gorge quite as well as I should have.
Make sure you do that!
Have a great time shedding those lbs!

I'm planning on doing my 2nd round at the start of the new year. I just CAN'T do it during the Christmas season - WAY too many tempting foods around. LOL!
Good luck!!

So far though LIs seem to be ok.
Ladies: I'm taking a planned break for Christmas and then I'm getting right back on again either the day after or the day after New Year's - I can't decide yet. I'd like to be just done, but I also think maybe if I go back on for 17 more days, I can lose 10 more, which would be at the midpoint of my BMI.
I can't decide yet. I really just want to stabilize!
If I just stay off, I may go on another round in April just to lose the last bit.
I'm so afraid of the Spring because I have a trip to France with my son at the end of March and then my daughter's graduation in May.
But if I gain a little, I COULD go on a short round in June just to lose any I gain.
I'm trying NOT to do that.

I think you can easily lose the extra 10 in 17 days. Amazing, isn't it?
I have done 2 rounds so far...I find that as long as I eat within moderation, I'm okay. I don't have to watch my diet super closely. I have also found that if I do end up over doing it, and gaining a few lbs, that if I go back to maintenance eating for a day or two, and they come right back off. It's really nice! I screwed up after this last round and did a ton of stress eating (ended round August 3) and not giving a crap, and have gained about 9 lbs.
I'm hoping the change in my schedule after the first of the year will cut out alof of that stress!
Mmm, France is fattening! I went for 10 days 2 years ago...not good on the ol diet. :-|
So, I'm going off HCG next Monday. I'll do the 72 hours VLCD, eat per P3 on Thursday, then watch how I eat on Christmas Eve and Day (I will decide then if I will take a bite of dessert and/or sweet potatoes, etc...). Then I'll go back to P3 for the next week, and eat a little off plan for NYE. Then right back on VLCD and HCG on January 1 for 17 more days. As long as you follow P3 for 7 days, you do not have to reload (some people say 9 days).
I lost a lb last night, so I'm now within 5 lbs of goal before Monday. I don't think I'm going to lose it all (I had some big whooshes already this week), even though my biggest losses are on the weekends, when I sleep better.
So I hope that any damage I do over Christmas, I can easily lose in 1-3 days when I go back on, and then continue on to lose 15-20 in that last 17 days. Whatever I get down to in that time frame will be what it is.
That's not too bad for you to have gained 9 lbs since August maintenance. That's where I want to be - and NOT ignore that 9 lbs to get off - because that's how my obesity started. Oh, what's 10 lbs., another 10 lbs, etc...
I have to ACT quickly on that, and now I know I can do a steak day and exercise more to get off 5 easily.
I maintained for 2 months with the same effort as you described, so I know I can do it.
I worry about France, like you said....I don't want to say no, but I will have to watch my unnecessary carb intake if I want to partake of bread/patisseries once every other day.
I don't speak French, and that's what I'm really afraid of - I won't know what I'm ordering. Can you give me an idea of what to steer clear of if I want to save room for bread and pastries (that's all I care about in France anyway!)? I think the cheese will all be ok for me - I do ok with cheese.
I will most likely go on a 3rd round in April just to tighten up any losses I didn't maintain, I think.
I'm not going to DT this week - I think I'll just do a Repair Me treatment.
I'll tell you what - going CG and on my 2nd day hair helps my losses, I think. You wouldn't think with so much product left in my hair, but I think not washing/co-washing is helping.
But then again, I could be wrong, yanno!

As far as what to avoid in France...ugh...I wasn't dieting at the time, and ended up mostly eating Italian food (of all things) and I don't speak an ounce of French either. My bf spoke just enough to get us around. You'll find that there are tons of locals that speak English, especially service people. We also found that if you just make the effort to greet everyone in proper French (which is the easy thing to learn) and ask them for help, that they are more than happy to help. I went over expecting everyone to be stereotypically rude, etc, but I never got any of that. I think it'll be important to balance enjoying yourself and just being realistic. (afterall, how often do you get to go across the pond?)
And like you said, if you gain a few lbs, it's not the end of the world, you just have to get a handle on it when you get home.
Is it injections from the doctor? Homeopathic drops from somewhere?
I was trying to do some reading on it all but keep finding websites and fake blogs just trying to sell me something. I'd love to hear what you guys are using and how it's going.
Stories please?!?
There are only two ways to do things: right or over.
The diet isn't easy. But, it really works if you set your mind to it and follow it to the letter. One of the benefits of using the drops from HealthyHCG.com is that you get everything you need to follow the diet. Most of the others don't give you the details and you have to find those elsewhere. I will say the drops aren't cheap. But, they work. If you decide to do it, make sure you read the entire book that they send you with the drops before you start the diet. There is a reason for everything that's written in the book - follow it. Don't cheat. Don't decide you want to do something different or eat something different or start the diet at a different time. You'll be setting yourself up for failure if you do. Do what it says and you'll lose - and you'll lose FAST. When it says to "load"... load BIG. If you don't load well, you don't lose well. Like I said, there's a reason for every little "rule" in the HCG Diet. I also recommend reading, in full, Dr. Simeon's Pounds & Inches so you understand why the rules are the way they are.
AND... if you want to save some $$, you can save 15% off your order from HealthyHCG.com if you use this code: q7842643. (just copy and paste it. But, if you want to know, that's a Q at the beginning - I'm not sure if it needs to be lower case. But, just so you know -it isn't a g.)
