Thomas is fed up with the Christmas bustle and wants things to get back to normal. He has spent much of the last 2 days hiding under or behind various things.

A few weeks ago my cousin lost her cat after 18 years. She recently met a young cemetery caretaker who had found a pregnant cat and took her in. My cousin now has 2 sweet new kitties, Jazz and Ken.

This is my cousin's dog, Lola. She was looking for her ball (notice it's by her foot) and got her head stuck in a pillow case. The other dog, Dino, thinks she's an idiot. haha.

I don't own my own pet, but I do dog sitting.  I had a dog here recently, who was a rescue.  6 month old male shih tzu.  Smartest dog I have ever met.  He was sitting on my bed with me & I asked him a question & he shook his head no. Just calmy staring at me.  Another time he wanted to play fetch with his little red ball.  I jammed or broke my thumb (still hurting) so it was hard for me to take the ball out of his mouth to throw it.  He would want to play tug of war with it.  I told him I couldn't do this & so he would run back with the ball & sit up & hold the ball towards me with it in his crossed arms.  When it was time for him to leave I was gathering up all his toys, but couldn't find the red ball.  I was looking under the bed with him right beside me looking too.  I had to go into my bathroom to blow my nose & he ended up in my bathroom with his ball at my feet.  I still don't know where it was.  He would also try to talk when he needed something.  I couldn't understand him, so I would stand up & let him lead me.  He would go to the door if he needed out & go to where I had his treats if he needed a treat.

@ellaj ; After I lost Todd 4 years ago this month, I was (and still am) devastated. He was my soul pet (and I've had dozens of pets of all kinds that I loved). But after pretty much not sleeping for 6 months I knew I needed to have another pet in the house. Thomas was the most laid back cat at the shelter and had similar coloring to Todd so I knew he was the one. I love him. But will never feel that connection I had with my Toddy boy.

Here is Todd saying Happy St Patrick's Day! He liked sitting like a person. : )

I've met four cats in the last two days - Harris, Basil, Sybil and Lightning. Jed also met Lightning, would love to know what was going through his head, he's never been in such close quarters with a cat for that length of time. He looked somewhat disturbed!

I lost my cat Puffy over 30 years ago & I still think of him. I raised him on a bottle, so he was like my child.  He was poisoned when he was 4.  I was like you, Jeep.  I was a mess.  Crying all the time. I ended up getting a puppy.  I've never had another cat. He was a Siamese.

This was just too cute and comical not to share. It is not my cat, although I did have a cat that was almost as big. We liked to say that he was big-boned and furry, lol!

I helped a lady walk down the street a few blocks today (it was icy and she had a walker) and I got to meet her cat, Luvkins! Look at her fun markings. Her nickname is Angel because if you look at her from the back, she had 2 angel wing markings. : )

No, not mine, they belong to a friend we're on holiday with. I tried to get some photos today but they didn't turn out so well. One of the dogs has a fear of mobile phones and apparently sees cameras as the same thing. I'll try again, they're very cute dogs.

Thomas isn't much of a cuddler and never gets in my lap. But if I pick him up and hold him like a baby he will just sit there forever.
