I paid for mine Sunday evening and was getting ready to do a DT, so I washed with my Desert Essence shampoo and took my samples before I put in the DT.

I plucked my samples after conditioning. I rinsed really well and skipped the LI. The instructions don't say anything about conditioner so hopefully that's ok.
Medium-fine Texture, Normal Porosity, Normal Elasticity, Thick Density
    Co-wash: Renpure Body&Shine
    RO: Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
    LI/Curl Enhancer: Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Other: I'll add a little AG Mousse Gel if I want something extra.

I did the same thing - plucked after my RO condish and before my LI. ...I have to say: it wasn't easy getting those hairs. LOLOLOL!

hehe it definitely felt weird intentionally plucking those hairs! Especially because I lose a bunch in the shower!

Do you have to specify with the hairs you're sending in what part of your head they came from?

I'd like to try this service at some point. It sounds neat! $12.95 sounds very reasonable too.

I took "front hairline" to mean the bangs area, pretty much right above the top of my forehead. I didn't take all 4 or 5 of those from the exact edge of my hairline, I maybe went back into my hairline an inch or so, but no further than that. For the "temple" area, follow the line of your eyebrow over to your hairline and that's it. Maybe halfway between the middle of your forehead and your ears. Again, I didn't take these hairs only from the edge - I went back into my hairline just an inch or so.

I don't think it matters about the color part of the page not printing - I'm sure Tiffany will recognize the form.

And no, you don't have to specify where they come from on your head - you just drop them all into a ziploc bag, and off they go!

I have a different kind of bag than a Ziplock bag...it closes by sealing it. Would that be okay?
I don't know about that - the instructions specify a Ziploc bag that is sealed without staples, glue, tape, or the like. It would probably be safer to scrounge up a Ziploc bag from somewhere.

Mine came already!! and it's only been a little over a week!! Awesome! I'm so excited!

They told me I was fine, with normal porosity, and normal elasticity....now what! hahah

I was shocked to know I was fine, I always thought I was medium.

    Now...on the hunt...

Ooooooh, now I'm gonna be checking my email all the time! I sent mine in a week ago today, so hopefully mine will come soon.

So, do you just plug your properties into the curl wizard and it recommends products? That would be great!

Just as an FYI, if you have received your analysis results already, you will be re-receiving them in .pdf format. We meant to convert them before sending them out (since not everyone has MS Word), but didn't realize we hadn't until they had already been sent. Our bad!

We are running about 7-10 days on responses right now. Bear in mind, however, we have given ourselves a 3-4 week window to accommodate backlogs, vacations, etc., so we might not always be this speedy :)

We hope everyone finds the analyses of value and would definitely appreciate your feedback. The responses are running about six pages and include a great deal of information on hair properties, product ingredients and product types.

Curl Wizard is on schedule to deploy November 15 :)

The only feedback I have is positive. I always thought I had a high porosity. Learning that I do not, will make a world a difference and answers why I have great hair after a BS wash ACV rinse. Able to get some moisture up in there!

Thank you for this service. And thank you for making it financially obtainable too.

So is everyone who got an analysis finding it helpful? I'm considering doing it but I was waiting to hear how helpful people are finding it...

I can't even begin to say how helpful I think the analysis is! It came last night, and I read it, like, 8 times before I went to bed. I had had such a hard time figuring out my hair's properties on my own. I plucked hairs, looked at them next to thread samples, felt them up and down, pulled them until they broke - and still felt like I didn't *really* know what I was seeing/feeling. Having a definitive answer about what's on my head right this second brings such a sense of relief!

I still want to experiment with products and techniques - but now I know what kinds of ingredients to look for and what I don't need to bother spending my money on. Example - finding out that my hair is medium-coarse, not on the fine side like I had been beginning to think, saves me $29 on that new Curl Junkie PT I had been considering getting! :thumbleft:

I also found out that I have normal porosity - after all that coloring and flat-ironing, I thought for sure it would be high - and low elasticity (which is the one thing I felt confident already about knowing). I am so much more informed now and ready to use this information to help me choose appropriate products. It was worth the $12.95, no question - I would happily have paid triple.

Tiffany, if you're reading this - THANK YOU!!! And if you need more feedback or have somewhere else where you'd like to collect it, just say the word.

You are quite welcome! Mary Pat and I are thrilled to be bringing this service to our fellow girls with curls and think it will do a lot to help answer questions on proper curly hair maintenance. As far as making it financially affordable, there was never any question of doing it any other way...same with Curl Wizard :)

Poe- No question about it. DO IT!! :)
At $12.95 I think there isn't one of us who can afford NOT to do it. (unless of course you're already confident about your hair properties) I'm excited for the thought of not having to blindly try one million products (and spending rediculous amounts of money) to figure out what *might* work.
Especially when Curl Wizard comes out next week, it just seems like a no brainer. :)

I got mine and I was pretty close. I KNEW I was fine-heck you can hardly see some of my hairs. My porosity is Normal which I was a bit off on. And my elasticity is Normal. Nice to have the information confirmed.

Now I want to know what they are doing with all those baggies of hair after they are done CSIing them!
