You're right. APL for most people rests at about 16-18", depending on height. With the 3" you've already grown, your hair will be there in about 26 months (2 years, 2 months). In fact, that's no time at all!

Good luck on your hair growing goals!

I went from just above shoulder length stretched to BSL in exactly 2 years. I get dusting trims about every 8 months.

    Happy Growing!:toothy4:

Randomly, are you all measuring from the back? Just wondering, because I'm almost at my one year (BC'ed to an inch of hair), and I'm about 3 inches away from APL in the back, and my sides are to my collarbone.

I measure my hair all over when it's fro-ish. That way I can tell where my hair is longer or shorter. I do measure to the back as well as the sides. My sides are shorter, but that's because my hair is layered that way. I just go with where the length is longest.

That is fast growing. You'll have to kindly fill me in on your regime and secrets. I am at 1 inch now (no big chop, just been wearing my hair short for years). Goal is below shoulder length but above waist length. Any advice?

To be totally honest, I think that nutrition is the most important thing - I drink protein shakes and take my hair vitamin (Maxi Hair), but I mainly try to get all my nutrients and eat fairly healthy. Scalp massages are also nice, and working out stimulates the scalp. I don't protective style though.

This is good solid advice. I BC'd in September. My hair length goal is to grow it as long as I possibly can. I used Doo Gro oil when my hair was relaxed to stimulate growth. Shoot...it worked. Not so much for my natural hair though. I refilled the bottle with castor, almond, and jojoba.

I definitely agree that nutrition is important to hair growth, as well as nail growth. I started a healthier lifestyle last January (working out, eating healthier, and drinking lots of water), and I actually have nails that I can paint now LOL. Protein for the win! Combined with an actual hair regimen and vitamin supplements, my hair is growing faster than it ever has. It's now at 3.5 inches stretched, three months later.
