Advice needed for CG in training

Based on my reading so far, I think I have 3b hair that is fine/medium and normal/over porous in nature. Currently, I use Avalon Lavender shampoo and Garnier Triple Nutrition conditioner when I shower (usually every 3 days or so) and then use Suave Naturals Coconut conditioner as a leave in. I love the way my hair looks when I have the time to completely let it air dry, even if I let it down and it's still damp, it starts getting fuzzy and I end up putting my hair back up in a clip to keep it tamed. It doesn't start getting oily for a couple of days, but I can't ever get the curls to revive for a second day so yet again I end up with my hair in a clip because I don't want to deal with another shower and waiting forever for my hair to dry (it's about waist length and takes an eternity to air dry).

Any thoughts or suggestions on improvements to my routine? Should I shampoo less and condition more? I'm all about making my routine as simple and easy as possible as I'm a mom to three kids ages 4, 2.5 and 14 months and one on the way so free time is non-existent! :) Thanks!

Are those the only products you're using? A styling product like gel or a curl cream will help with frizz. It'll also help with second day hair.

How are you sleeping on your hair? It took me a while to figure out what method works best for me in order to achieve second day hair.

    Here's what I'm doing:

You can also try a regular pineapple, a satin cap or pillowcase, plopping, using a scarf, etc.

I haven't been doing anything special in the realm of sleeping... definitely going to try your modified pineapple tonight!

What recommendations do you have for any styling products? Preferably something I can get at the grocery store.

Let me know how it works for you! I started doing it that way because my hair had gotten longer, but it's definitely not waist-length so I hope it works!

I think the only grocery store product I use is Aussie's Instant Freeze. Off the top of my head, Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee, L.A. Looks gels, and Herbal Essences gels are all good. If you look around the boards, I'm sure you can find more recommendations. Also, if you have a Sally's nearby you can find some good products there. Ecostyler gel is great. Plus it's really cheap and you get a LOT of it.

Thanks so much for your help! Last night I did a co-wash with VO5, conditioned with my Garnier and a leave in of the Suave. I scrunched in some Instant Freeze and diffused it before bedtime and slept with it all piled on top of my head. and surprise..... it worked! :) When wet, my hair is waist length... it's so curly right now that it just covers my shoulders! I need to do some tweaking, but this is a great improvement. Thanks again!
