stupid freakin' Breathe-Right strips.....

rouquinnerouquinne Posts: 13,494Registered Users Curl Dabbler
i'm coming down with a cold and in an attempt to get some sleep last night put one of those strips on my nose so i wouldn't keep waking up feeling stuffed up.

the good news is that it worked!

the bad news is that i have a HORRIBLE bruise across the bridge of my nose!

it shows up even through my lightest concealer (Ben Nye Tattoo Cover in Light Orange) and i can't cake on enough foundation to camouflage it...

:(

help!!!!!

Those work great. But. I peeled the skin off a piece of my nose with one.
I have been using generic strips from Target and a regional grocery chain with their own generic brand and they have not caused me problems other than a little irritation from the adhesive.
    Try a generic!
If you can get some vitamin K cream, that helps fade bruises quickly. I've seen it in health food stores, maybe a drugstore would have it too.

Hope your nose and your cold are better soon.

i've found the generics come off too easily. so i got a large pack of the "extra-strong" ones last time i was sick. i've still got lots left.

i guess i'll be going to work tomorrow looking like i got a nose job....

Wow - what a bummer! I had no idea that a bruise was a potential outcome of those strips..... Hope your cold is better, at least.

The last time I had a cold I got the clear "improved" breathe right strips that are supposed to open your nasal passages better and they wouldn't stay on through the whole night. My face gets oily during the night so usually they start to peel off by morning...but I'm assuming you got the bruise from peeling it off. If you haven't already, next time you use one try to remove it while you're in the shower and/or washing your face.

actually, i suspect i got the bruise because i sneezed when i had it on. it was on pretty firmly, too. and i noticed the bruise before i took the darn thing off in the morning.

i'm not kidding when i say i bruise easy!
