Who uses Redken Shades EQ, and do you do it yourself?

I just recently got my hair colored at the salon, and this is what I wanted them to use. It turned out wonderfully. The reason I went in, is because I have gray.....and Oh how I hate the gray. It covered my grays completely, and although I absolutely loved it. Gave me shine too. My hair is a very dark brown (not black) and the color looks more on the black side than brown to me. For those of you who have used it and bought it, can you suggest a color for me? so that next time (where I want to do it myself) I will get a dark brown, and not more black?
