someone started this thread. I've been pissed for almost 24 hours after that heffa came up in the Zippah (sp?) Beauty thread talking bout she makes 3 of her products. Nah homey...you buying all your bases at EW . Just cause you cut and paste and edit the ingredient list don't mean you handmade it....even if you used your HANDS and MADE that bogus a*& ingredient list.

Elle I saw that mess. But the fact is she is still lying. She removed from her "handmade" ingredient lists a few tell tell signs of the EW base and then switched the order of the ingredients for all three of those so-called handmade products.

She removes the EDTA from her ingredient list but it is clearly listed in the base that she uses. That's down right unethical. And saying that the bases she buys from EW are Organic and Cruelty free? hmmm no boo they aren't. lol

LOL...well link her stuff to the bases in here! That's what the thread is for!

Just to sum up and clarify on the AV conditioners because several bases were found and I made an error on 2 of the conditioners.

    - Holy Basil, Coconut Moisture, & Neem - If you like these you can use this: /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ingredientstodiefor.com%2Fitem.php%3Fitem_id%3D102%26amp%3Bcategory_id%3D53" class="Popup

The Prana and Miss Bhuriti seem to be an EW base of some kind but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what base (if they are from a base) the Kissi and Nu Milk conditioners are.

This thread could help a lot of women who are thinking of starting their own hair care line, sell products, etc.

I think this thread is great.

    Research, research and more research.

I agree. There so many here who practicing to be hairstylists or are already hairstylists. I know some already sell their own hair products on the side. This thread could help.

This is BS, I had no idea all these companies are using a base and then adding like 1 or 2 oils, and calling it custom?? and all natural and organic, WTF!
The wholesale sites, don't even claim the prodcuts are all natural and 100% organic.

Buying from small boutique companies, implies, the products are hand crafted, made in small batches, with quality ingredients, rather they are in hair care, food stuffs, cheese makers, or wine producers.

Its a LIE , to make it seem like you are selling a unique product, when its not!!

Her other conditioners are from the Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol (together these are called Cetearyl, the name she uses), Stearalkonium Chloride, Dimethyl Stearamine, Lactic Acid type of base I mentioned above.

Mala also gets NatureMulse, the emulsifier she uses for her butters, from here as well. I bought some to experiment with. :evil4:

I think Mala uses a base for her butters too.
Only thing different in her butters are the oils/essential oil blend she uses.

and LOVE. yall keep forgetting the love she uses to make her butters. thats where the other $13 come from. love is expensive dammit.

Here's how you can tell if its a base from EW. Black willow bark extract. It's not an ingredient that handmade products usually have. I always look for that ingredient and a red flag goes up.

You are SO WRONG for this!! :stop: in the name of LOVE!!! Bahahahahaha puttin' this lady all out on front street! Talking 'bout all kinds of emulsifying wax and isht to "blend" the final product...don't you know that love will keep it together?? :angel12:

Just to sum up and clarify on the AV conditioners because several bases were found and I made an error on 2 of the conditioners.

    - Holy Basil, Coconut Moisture, & Neem - If you like these you can use this: /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ingredientstodiefor.com%2Fitem.php%3Fitem_id%3D102%26amp%3Bcategory_id%3D53" class="Popup

    - Ashlii Amala Red Rasberry Mask has a base that can be found on the EW site. /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentialwholesale.com%2Fs.nl%2Fsc.9%2Fcategory.107069%2F.f" class="Popup

    - If you like the The Tea Tree and Lemon, Ylang, CinnaMint, B.A.R.E, and possibly the Ananda (???) conditioners, you can use these bases: /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bulkskincare.com%2FBulk-Tea-Tree-Hair-Conditioner-p%2F741gcot.htm" class="Popup

    /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bulkskincare.com%2FBulk-Aromatherapy-Conditioner-Ylang-and-Ginger-p%2F741gcoy.htm" class="Popup

    /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bulkskincare.com%2FAromatherapy-Conditioner-Rosemary-Mint-1-Gallon-p%2F741gcor.htm" class="Popup

    /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bulkskincare.com%2FConditioner-AromaFree-reg-Unscented-1-gallon-p%2F75coag.htm" class="Popup

The Prana and Miss Bhuriti seem to be an EW base of some kind but I'm not sure. I'm not sure what base (if they are from a base) the Kissi and Nu Milk conditioners are.
And don't forget that all the aromaland bases have dimethicone in them and Mala removed that ingredient from her ingredient list as well as the red ginger powder?? ingredient. So she's not selling a cone free product.
Ah...to be a well pampered pootiecat. I can sleep on my owner's lap. Roll over on my back when I want my stomach rubbed. Purr with delight. Suddenly jump off and walk away for no reason. I want to know this: since she was using bases, why was/is her turnaround time so high? Its obvious all she was doing was pouring the bases into a bottle or jar so what makes her job so difficult? It can't be quality because the products are essentially already made. How long does it take to doctor up a base?

So basically I'm getting the the justifications for the price increase that are basically saying she needed to do them to hire extra help or more of Mala's time is complete ****. I remember talk of her being untrusting of other people working with her and not mixing the stuff right, and I think it even said that to some effect in the letter. It was **** because all she had to do was "bottle it up" like Sara Bareilles.

And on top of all that, some of the bases were not even claiming to be 100% Organic. And some had silicone in them!! Silicone?! Since when is buying a base, adding two or three oils and other **** and charging up the a** for a product that I can just buy the base to and add my own sh*t. I've been eyeing that Ashili Amala deep conditioner right, so instead of paying over $20 for 8 oz of product, I can buy the base /home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.essentialwholesale.com%2Fs.nl%2Fsc.9%2Fcategory.107069%2F.f" class="Popup in 16oz (the smallest size) for $8.95. Then I can add my own oils to it, or not, and BOOM CLACK CLANK I made a deep conditioner.

Thanks for posting this:notworthy:. I've never brought any of her products and I definitely wont now; since I can get them from a wholesaler:headbang::headbang: (EW look out cause here I come) and add oils of my own. I think she is completely out of line for telling people that her products are all organic, and all handmade(:stop::stop: right there). That's false/misleading advertisement. She has a lot of explaining to do to her consumers. She just needs to make sure she listing the correct ingredients for her products. So that people can make an informed decision when purchasing her products. Also I read that one of her products smell like rotten milk :goofy::goofy: wth.
