too dry or too much protein?

my hair feels like hard and wiry right now, and it has zero curl formation--it's just crimpy frizz--unless I use products.

is there a way to tell if i'm just dried out or have too much protein?

(products using include: [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/DevaCurl-LowPoo-p-54.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=devacurl-devacurl-lowpoo]Deva Low Poo[/buylink], L'oreal Pro Vive Nutra Gloss in pink bottle (has A-cone), AOHR, Mop-C cream (working well lately), CHS CK (makes hair feel hard and bad), also was using Ouidad Balancing Condish from time to time)

TIA!

If you think it is the CHS CK, the problem could be the glycerin. In some people it causes "flash drying". As soon as it hits the hair it seems to draw all the moisture out of it. You may be glycerin sensitive.

Thank you! This is a very useful article.

I think my hair is probably too dry and needs moisture--I used the AOHR last night and it feels a bit better. I probably need a trim and a good deep treatment, and I will avoid the glycerin and proteins for a while.
