Megara's Workout Log

Okay ladies, I'm going to try to keep up this log. I used to be a dancer (14 years) and now I'm all lazy and out of shape. Just joined the gym again.
Goals-- Lose 30 pounds by April 7, 2007 or be a size 8.
Not have wiggly chicken arms.
Lose the lovehandles.
Improve cardiovascular health (I'm not sure how I'll measure this, but I know I need to improve it.)
To catch up:
Friday Dec. 1 Day One- 20 minutes of treadmill. Fast walking ( Pace 4)
Saturday and Sunday- Off. Sunday-got new shoes for working out.
Monday- Twelve hour work day- on my feet all day. I get a free pass.
Tuesday- 50 reps on the ab machine on #5 weight
25 minutes of treadmill. Fast walking (Pace 4)
5 minutes of elliptical- Quick start
Wednesday- Off. Abs hurt.
Thursday- 25 minutes of treadmill. Pace 4 (walking)
5 minutes of elliptical- Quick start.
Getting shin splints. Try not walking so fast???
Friday- 25 minutes of treadmill. Pace 3.5-4 (walking and jogging)
8 minutes of elliptical-Quick start (elliptical getting easier)
Shin splints not so bad today.

Treadmill-27 minutes on 3.5-3.7 pace
Eliptical- 15 minutes on quick start
Ab machine- 50 reps on #5
Seated bench press- 3 sets of 10 reps each-20lbs
Other arm thingy- (forgot the name) 3 sets of 10 reps
2 positions, 20 pounds
Lunch-chicken breast, small potatoes, steamed cauliflower
2 bottles of 16 oz water

Seated Bench Press- 3 sets 10 reps each 20 pounds

Shoulder Press- 3 sets, 8 reps each on two positions
Ate better- 2 bottles of water. Turkey breast and broccoli for lunch, noodles for dinner.

30 minutes on the Elliptical that I hate. Someone was on my beloved Procor!!
2 sets of 20 tricep dips
2 sets of 20 tricep lift thingys over my head. 5 lb weight.
60 crunches on the ball
40 back ups on the ball
40 hamstring thingys on my tum
20 of these lifted leg things on each side- cannot remember the name for the life of me.
3 sets of 30 crunches on the ab machine.
10 minutes of a quick ballet routine at the barre.
I've got the dum-dums today. These were a bunch of strength training "moves" from sparkpeople.com.

I actually have noticed results!! Everyone keeps saying how I look like I've lost so much weight (14 lbs as of today, whoo hoo!!). My friends, family, even my realtor!! I can tell that my body feels different, not so jiggly. I know I've lost inches, I just wish I would have measured before I started. My size 14 ( :evil: ) pants were falling off my a$$ all day long today. And honestly, the best thing, my ghetto booty has firmed up quite nicely. It's still quite out there-- but at least it looks hot now! I'm very excited. And I feel great-- those endorphins are better than drugs!
And so, for today,
Elliptical-30 minutes resistance 5, 310 calories. (I remember when I first started the elliptical I couldn't do 5 minutes!)
Ab machine- 80 reps on #6
My normal arm back routine from Dec. 17. I'm going to name this arm/back set so I don't have to type the whole damn thing out.
Ate really well, I think. Last night I had chicken and vegetable stir fry with some rice.
Today- breakfast- protien shake lunch-chicken and yogurt with granola and blueberries, snack- clementines, and dinner will be pasta and marinara. Didn't do so hot on the water intake- so I'm going to have to do better with that.

I had an icky downer yesterday--I got fitted for my bridesmaid dress. Yikes. They ask, "What size do you want us to order?" and I'm like-- uhhh... a 0! Unfortunatly that was not the reality. I took today off from working out too, cuz I had a hellish day at work. So as I sit with my Bloody Mary, I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight!
Anyway- here are my current measurements (can't believe I'm gonna post these suckers) 40" bust 33" waist 44" hips. Yeah, that's right, JUNK IN THE TRUNK!
I'm going for a good run tomorrow while the house is being shown, so until then, Bloody Mary's it is!

Only 20 minutes of Elliptical, 7 to 9 resistance. My right lung was hurting for some stupid reason.

My mom and I have challenged eachother to work our arms every day. I'm on day three, haven't missed yet.

Frau, you're not a loser! You look great.. I wish my issue was to eat what I want and GAIN weight. Hell, I need to lose 20lbs! I'm also 5' 8", but I weigh 180lbs. :? My goal is 165lbs...hopefully we'll both get to our goals!
I must say though... Megara is quite the motivator! You go girl!! 8)
