Sadly, there's just not much out there that's new, that I like. (I already own all the basic styles...and then some...)

I only wear boots with mid-length or long skirts and when I need them for snow and ice. Is it just me or does it just not snow that much any more? I live in the the freaking upper midwest and maybe it's because I'm used to alot of snow but we get two or three big dollaps of it and that's it. Even with that, I just hate the boots over the pants look (I almost always wear pants) and won't do it so they never do me much practical good. I do love boot-shopping though but I have no idea why. Guess it's a habit from youth.

So I don't invest a lot in boots, though I want an inexpensive tall pair with a 2 inch or less heel. I will look at your all's selections. I honestly haven't thought that much about it yet cause like I said, I expect very little snow from what I've seen in the previous years, and next week it's supposed to be 90 degrees again. :(

What a timely thread. I just came home from DSW with these. The heel is pretty high but I think I can manage.

I will still be wearing last years. My Steven Maddens. Here they are:

I also have a short flat pair that I love too. They are not Steven Maddens-I got them at Famous Footwear.

I also have a pair like this-they are wicked comfortable but I hardly wear them. That is one downfall about working from home-I find it hard to find excuses to wear my dressier stuff.

    I just got these:

    pl802867-00vliv01.jpg

For some reason, I hoped/expected them to be knee-high but they're only mid-calf, which is okay I guess. They were only $38 so I can't be picky.

These are my winter boots too! Well, very similar anyway. I got them last year on Ebay in black and brown for $25 each.

Jeep I was thinking about getting a brown pair too. I just can't decide if I'd rather have a leather pair instead. I'm terrible with decisions like that...silly, I know.

Dang it...found these and they so out of my price range. They look like the Soda ones PH posted but I adore the color of these. The Sodas are much more affordable though...hmmmm.

RCC I'm wondering the same thing. I really love those. Damn big, muscle calves.

I remember when you bought pair #1. Loved them. I rarely wear heels anymore though :( I like your #2s too. The detail is really unique.

I don't wear heels often, but I like heeled boots.

I do need to buy snow boots this year though, so I also need to find a practical pair of snow boots.

Oh, and I found these in a shorter heel. They're plain, but the color variety is nice. I'm not sure if you you're a no-heel ot short-heel-is-OK person.

I have ridiculously large calves, and it takes forever for me to find large-shaft (heh, dirty) boots that don't look like they're made to fit elephants. But I did, and I didn't even have to have them custom made.

DSW now marks they're "wider calf" boots they way they do large and small sizes, and wide and narrow shoes. Even on their website. That's how I found mine.

Thanks! What's super awesome is that not only do they fit my ginormous calves, but I can cram jeans in em' too and they still fit properly. I've always abhorred the tucked-in-jeans look mostly out of jealousy because I thought finding boots I could get my legs AND my jeans into was a pipe dream. No more.

If I wore heels I'd be all OVER these, so pretty!

I really, really want a pair of boots for the winter! I don't think I can pull off tucking my jeans in not to mention I don't think any of my jeans would fit into a boot. I just want something cute and comfortable to walk around in for several hours at a time.

    I got these last year:

    clarks%201.jpg

    Clarks Originals Witch Hazel

I just got these last week:

    1197610-p-MULTIVIEW.jpg

    Privo Kinsey

I don't generally do heels, so I am a little nervous with these...so I'm thinking of exchanging them for something flatter. Also, the insert is not nearly as cushioned as other Privos I've seen, especially in the heel. But...they look fab on, so I dunno.

    I've been eyeing:

    privo386619_208689_jb.jpg

Privo Ricegrass (love the eggplant suede, but might be boring and go for black...ooh, but I love the purple!!)

    and

    HAYSEED!CLA-22059.jpg

Privo Hayseed (probably in the black, which I can't find any pics of)

There are a number of Keen boots I like, and I ought to find a higher boot, but I too have calves that are troublesome, though not as troublesome as size my 5 (almost) feet with problems of their own.
