About Honey

I have been faithfully using honey in my conditioner and as a styling product, since starting CG. It used to lighten my hair quite a bit. I have recently been doing a lot of oiling with coconut oil and also trimming a little myself and snipping off some split ends when I see them. My hair doesn't seem as light as the honey used to make it. My question is does the honey lighten your damaged hair more than healthy hair? I am wondering if my hair seems darker now because the damaged ends soaked up more of the honey making them lighter and that now that I have gotten rid of some damage, it doesn't lighten as much.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Hmm that's an interesting theory! Honey would bring out the natural highlights throughout my hair but for some reason the ends of my hair would just turn really blonde. I thought maybe it was damaging my hair but maybe my hair was already damaged!

That makes alot of sense...right? I mean, my ends were really blonde too (and my hair is dark brown, with auburn highlights) It lightened and brought out my highlights all over but the ends were always lighter. I'm guessing that that part of my hair was always lighter because it had more damage. I snipped off somedamage and I also oil it a lot more so I don't have quite as much damage, and my hair is not as light.

Yeah, makes total sense! Why hadn't I thought of that? lol I've never liked the looks of that section of hair. I got rid of some of it today. ;)
