Has anyone tried a Dry Shampoo before?

I am going to purchase a dry shampoo next week. By far, I know that it it doesn't give a super clean feeling like regular shampoo, but does it dry out some of the extra oil. I like how "some" of the ingredients seem very good & eco friendly. Has anyone on here tried a dry shampoo before?

Here are a list of dry shampoos from Sephora:

I use the black Baptiste one.. no white residue.. freshens up..when your too stapped for time or its cold/wet in the morning

Very rarely used it recently.. but its great if your hair is flat ironed straight :-)

PSSSST is not much different than brushing baby powder thru, but it smells better

Tresemme wets hair too much (for me) and has a 'cone. It does leave hair smelling fresher, though.

Haven't used any others, though I've heard Oscar Blandi's is pretty good.

I have the TRESemme FreshStart foam shampoo in my gym bag. I don't see a cone in it (this is for dry/curly hair)?

Water, TEA Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance (Parfum), DMDM Hydrantoin, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methypropional, Amyl Cinnamal, Hexylcinnamal, Citronellol, Geraniol, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf Juice, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract ((Witch Hazel) Bark/Leaf/Twig), Citrus Tangerina Extract (Tangerine), Citrus Grandis Fruit Extract (Grapefruit)

It does have that TEA Lauryl Sulfate so I'm not sure if it counts as CG... but it freshens up my curls after my workouts.

I have the dry/curl formula, too, and I stand corrected - it was the sulfate, not a 'cone, that I didn't particularly like using, especially since it stays in the your hair. That said, I've used it several times just to use it up, and it doesn't seem to have caused any particular problems. I doubt I'll repurchase, though, since I don't care for its wetness.

so...you CAN use baby powder for dry shampoo?

I'm trying to find the best kind for when I decide to straighten my hair, because when I do I want it to LAST, for a good bit, because I don't want to re-straighten it.

Yeah, you can just brush thru baby powder or Shower to Shower, e.g or even corn starch. If your hair's dark, you have to be careful to brush it through really well or people can tell you've done it - same with Pssst, though. I don't know if the Tresemme for straight hair is powdery.

I personally can't stand to go more than one day with either in mine, but it can get you thru an extra day or so in a pinch.

I've known of naturally straighties who even dab alcohol or cologne on their hairlines or along their parts with a cotton ball to get rid of oiliness, but that sure would be drying on already dry hair!

I just got the Tresemme Fresh Start one for dry/curly hair, and I love it. I used it today, and I'm really liking the way it works. It does make my hair wet like you said, auntnett, but once it dries, my hair feels refreshed and clean, like I just washed it. But I recently looked at a list of harsh cleansers as opposed to mild ones, and I'm pretty sure the TEA Lauryl Sulfate was on the "harsh" list. Oops! But I really like mine anyway. :blob4:
