But curl type won't help you with how you should be taking care of your hair. You would need to learn your porsitiy, density, and texture. There was an excellent link to an article about how to test your hair for those atributes. I'll go search for it now, hopefully if I find it i'll put the link in your thread

Wait for a month or two after you big chop then re-assess. You don't need to know your texture to choose the right products, just how strong (coarse, medium, fine) your hair is and how porous or non porous. Also how much it shrinks.
