    3. 3 weeks in before hair cut (my canopy was straighter than the rest so I had layers cut in)
    4. 3 weeks in after hair cut
    5. 6 weeks in

I am still working on styling. It appears the end of my hair is too thin, but I have come to realize that I have a cowlick at the nape of my neck that pushes all my hair to one side (my son says it looks like I have been wearing a pony tail). I am working on that.

    :)
Your canopy has really took to waving very well!
    It looks great!

Thanks! It is coming along. Credit is due to the helpful wavies. :hello1: The back and right side are mostly caught up. The left is still a little weak. I am parting in the right, but I had been parting on the left. I am planning on switching it up so I can get even waves. The layers helped a TON!

I switch my part up about every week. It helps with volume too!

Haven't been here in a while, but I thought I'd share some of my CG maintenance photos here.

The first is just before starting CG.

The second two are pretty par for the course after my hair settled in and I figured out what it liked. In those photos, I pixie-diffused, and used Ecostyler to get some curl boost, and LALSG on top.

The last two photos were taken today. I've got almost nothing in my hair - about 1.5Tbs of LALSG. I haven't been using the Ecostyler, mostly out of laziness after running out a few months ago. I picked some up today, so I'm interested to see what happens with it. I also don't pixie diffuse on a regular basis anymore. Now that my hair is long, it just gets too frustrating. So, that last pic is all me, with a little bit of hold (and a little bit of frizz - eeek!)

Wow, finale, I cannot believe how different you look with those two different hair lengths. The shorter length makes you look cute and bubbly and chic, it really puts the focus on your lovely eyes and smile. The longer length has a sultry "longer hair as a look in itself," thing going on.

Thanks! I was noticing that I look really different in all of the photos, too. And the ones of my shorter hair made me miss it! But the longer 'do is easier to manage right now, since I can basically just walk out of the shower and let it hang. With moving states (I really need to update my siggie) and studying for the bar, easy is good. :)

This is exactly what I wanted to say If I had been smart enough to think of it. I wouldn't have thought I would like any length as much as your bob, but I like it long too.

Wow, what a compliment, dgprocess! Thank you! And I think yours is incredibly lovely. Looks like yours is more uniform than mine is, which means you'll have to work less to get wave/curl above the ears than I did. :)

Thanks so much, Peda! I had expected to cut it off long before now, but it kept needing less product as it would get longer, and be easier to get to look decent before leaving in the morning. All of a sudden, it was APL curly. I have no idea how it happened. I'm sure I'll go back to the bob. I sure do miss it. But for now, I'll keep it long and keep experimenting.

Hello everyone, I'm new here and thought I would share my pics so you could all see how much my hair has changed since learning this. I have been doing this off and on for about three years now and I've been growing my hair out as well, as you can see.

I went from straightening my hair everyday and absolutely hating everything about my hair to really loving it now thanks to the CG method!

The following 5 pics are of my hair now using the co-wash, ice queen method, plopping and pixie drying...

Thank you so much, I couldn't have done it without this forum though. My hair has such a limp wave to it that I didn't even know the potential that it had until I saw some before and after pics! I can literally say now that I truly LOVE my hair and have very few "bad hair days". Even when I don't even have the time to do my hair, I love braids, updos, buns, twists and lots of hair sticks.

My husband plays on his computer, I play with my hair.

    It's my hobby!!

    Before:
1/4 inch of split ends every 2 months, rough feeling hair, very dull, s-shaped waves only. If there wasn't a cute baby in this picture, an accurate photo of my before hair would not exist.
(not my babies in pics, but it is my dog)
    DSC02238.JPG
A few months short of 2 years after:
I haven't cut split ends of the length in about 8 months (hmmm. should probably at least dust the ends) I have some shine, some C-turns and a few hidden spirals, and my hair feels soft and lovely like I never knew was possible. This is 2nd day hair.
    DSC06119.JPG
    DSC06120.JPG

Read on only if you are interested.
Why did it take so long for an after shot. Slightly off DIY cuts, out of focus pics, chronic blinking, I look uncomfortable or crazy in pictures...
    History of my hair:
    DSC02559.JPG
My hair on a good day with some help from a curling iron. The before pic above was 2 1/2 years ago. It is a more accurate representation of my before hair, which was more damaged then I knew. About this time (2 1/2 years ago) I started to wash my hair less, used heat less, etc. while I was looking for CG products my picky hair would accept. Stupid picky hair:angry1:.
2ish years ago, 1 month into CG
    DSC04870.JPG
This is with the exact same gel as the before pics.
    1 year ago in attachments.
I can coax more curl out of my hair when it is shorter. My hair does better at it's current length if I don't try to make it super curly (must learn this lesson, must learn this lesson, less is more, less is more).

Pedaheh, that is nothing short of an amazing transformation. You look so different with your wavy hair too. Your face was made for waves. Your hair looks so soft and lustrous and shiny. You really know how to make the most of fine hair! Thanks for sharing - I love it when you post pics.

Oh, and your dog is so darn cute I think part of my heart just melted.

    Hey girls!

It's been a while that I have been on a CG routine (which I first heard about from this website!) and have always wanted to post my pics but never really did.... I'm a procrastinator!

I started CG in the end of January 2010. Before that I had already thought I had wavy hair and for 12 years I blew it dry straight, and for 10 of those 12 years I fried my hair with the flat iron as well. Had tried to just wear my hair natural but couldn't stand how it looked.... CG changed my life (and my hair!), I'm so much happier about my hair now and I confess I love getting compliments from other women in the church's bathroom...lol

My first picture is my before picture, one day I just washed and let it air dry in hopes to wear it natural. The second one is after the first day on CG, the third one was about three days into CG, the fourth one was a couple of weeks after staring CG (and the day I first tried FSG) and the last one is a close up of my curls in the end of last year. I need to take a nice picture of how it looks now, but it's about the same as the last picture but a bit shorter... I also lost a bit of volume and sometimes my hair gets quite stringy, that's when I know it's time for a bit of sulfate-free shampoo....

I have a lot of hair and volume with a 2c wave/loose curl pattern.
First picture is my hair after being combed and with the use of drug store silicone shampoos and conditioners.

Second picture is my hair now, I've had better hair days than that one (was out of my regular Jessicurl products), but you can definitely see the improvement :)

You both have gorgeous hair! I get hair envy every time I look through this thread. :)
