Is hairspray CG friendly?

Is hairspray CG friendly? I'm sorry if there's already a post like this, I searched but couldn't find an answer. I've been using TRESemme hairspray for the past 2-3 days. I feel it holds my curls in place really well:icon_smile:, but does it dry it out, or will it create buildup:?? If so, does anyone know of a hairspray that won't do those things? Thanks in advance!:D

It has a very drying alcohol as its first ingredient. Most people who are CG don't use it. Try a spray gel instead. It acts a lot like hairspray. Garnier makes a good one that's cheap and CG.

I only spray my bangs. They do not curl so I have to style them. I got the recommendation here for Giovanni L.A. styling spritz. I really like it.

There are some CG hairsprays. Matrix Curl Life Hairspray is one of them. Sorry, no other specific brands are coming readily to mind.

I just bought HE Set Me Up hairspray to deal with frizz. Even my Ouidad CC isn't cutting it these days. My curls are staying mostly defined but there are also lots of orphan hairs interspersed with my curls by the end of the day.

Should I return it? I thought it was CG friendly as it has no cones other than a PEG modified dimethicone...

water, dimethyl ether, sd alcohol 40, va/crotonates/vinyl neodecanoate copolymer, acrylates copolymer, bambusa vulgaris leaf/stem extract, cereus grandiflorus (cactus) flower extract, fragrance, propylene glycol, aminomethyl propanol, glycereth-7 triacetate, ammonium benzoate, peg-8 dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexamine, acetamide mea.
3b curly with some 3c thrown in at the crown. Fine, high porosity, dense curls styled in a curly bob,

Last Japanese TR in March 2008. BC in July 2010 and now 100% natural. :afro:

    CG since September 2010.

Currently co-washing with Suave Naturals or V05 Moisture milks, conditioning with Triple Condition, and styling with LALSG. That's it!

It has three silicones, two which are not PEG modified to be water soluble, and one of those is an especially ugly one for some people - cyclopentasiloxane.

I'd look for something else, but if you don't, at least they're at the bottom of the ingredient list, so maybe you won't be getting too much of them.

I think they've changed their formulation. I used to have some HESMU hairspray, and I don't think it had any 'cones. I didn't much care for it anyway, though.
    2C/3A/3B - modified CG - fairly fine now, normal/low porosity/normal elasticity

Current Main Rotation: MG217 medicated or Aim2Health 'poos for scalp, Elucence cond., Spiral Solutions Protein & Deeply Decadent Cond., CJCCCC reg or lite,CJ Pattern Pusha,, Giovanni LA Hold Hair Spritz + lots more, sporadically

HG Method: Super Soaker + Smasters-ing, brief upside down diffusing w/360o diffuser then clips/clamps & air dry. Newly gray - stopped my henna glosses!

Orphan hairs, at least for me, mean that my hair is too dry. It is my hair's way of tell me that it would like more mositure please.

A bit of aloe gel and grapeseed oil usually solves the problem for me.
