Yes, I'd say it's a condition. I'd be the same way too if my hair didn't eat little hair toys. It's just that thick. I saw the coolest neon bobby pins yesterday and wanted them, but then I remembered that I wouldn't really be able to see them in my hair. Though if I do an updo, it'll help me find them at the least.
I also love hairclips, like the big ones, but I can never find ones that can contain all my hair. :sad7:
Mostly 2B with some 2C on a good day, M/Ciii
Shoulder length, and I use permanent hair color.
    Started modified CG 6-20-10
Conditioners: Suave Naturals, Garnier Triple Nutrition

    Low poo: L'Oreal Everpure
Styling: The Body Shop's Cottonseed Curl Boost, HESMU (winter), LALSG and LALCG (summer),
Hair hates: magnesium sulfate (extremely drying!), glycerin in the winter.

I think I have that condition too. My hair is in a bob right now and I often take the front of my hair and pull it to the side. I clip it with a cute bow, decorative clip, or fun barrette. I just spent 20 bucks this week on bow barrettes alone. Oh well, it is just so much fun!
Trying to get back on a more CG friendly routine
    2C thick hair...porous
    Deva Low Poo
    One C
    GF spray gel
FOTKI has not been updated! I will as soon as I get around to taking some pictures.

    +1
I think they look like the coolest thing ever. Alas, my hair is way too short to fit into a bun.

    Curl enhancer: FSG

I have spin pins, and they do work - but I won't be wearing them in public until I get my hair cut again. I've still got a lot of weird lengths that stick out.

What I like about them the most is that they don't pull on my hair and feel very comfortable.
2B low porosity low elasticity fine texture
I'm not CG - tried it and failed for two years. My scalp hates it.

I have to say that I think I *fail* at hair styling, but I have picked up a few things, and might start adding a few more here and there. The spin pins look neat. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my hair for my brother's wedding. I might explore a headband. :)

I am the BIGGEST hair toy junkie ever!! I collect vintage clothing and accesorise (1940's and 50's..occasionally 60's) and am a sucker for hair flowers and combs and pins and scarfs and sparkles and ooo did I mention the flowers?? :P

Hair sticks are another love of mine too. So far I have about 20 pairs!!

Anyone looking for spin pins, try looking at Hair Scroos on etsy. They are much cheaper and exactly the same thing. Goody has just renamed them.

hmmm apologies there. Last time I looked there was a woman selling them in differant gauges but they seem to have dissappeard. Amish pins or U-shaped pins are jsut as great as well as good days hair pins. You can get them in clear as well...easy to hide!!

Anyone know of hair friendly hair toys? I'm beginning to wonder if my crown breakage is in part due to the clips and barrettes I have.

the french style barrettes can be murder on your hair but for friendly hair toys, just make sure there is nothing to snap, snag or pull your hair and be very carefull when removing bobby pins.

Ahh. I have one like that from France Luxe. My hair gets caught in the springs which is what I think has caused my crown breakage.

This is what mine is like.

once in a while is fine but you may be better looking for the barrete that you put a stick through to secure, some hair sticks or some pretty decorated amish pins (ravenslair and nightblooming on etsy make my favorite hair toys!)

France Luxe has some pretty hair toys! Are they worth the high $$? I'm thinking about getting a few new things and their classic hair pin http://www.franceluxe.com/pc/9827/CombsSticks/index.html and this little jaw clamp http://www.franceluxe.com/pc/9657/JawsCascades/index.html look like things I would use. That's $16 for one clamp, right?
I've also been looking on ETSY and have my eye on a few sets of hairsticks...
Medium-fine Texture, Normal Porosity, Normal Elasticity, Thick Density
    Co-wash: Renpure Body&Shine
    RO: Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
    LI/Curl Enhancer: Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Other: I'll add a little AG Mousse Gel if I want something extra.
