I'm new and was wondering what I could do to make my hair better. Suggestions? Sorry the pictures aren't the best. Also, I've been told that my hair is fairly thick.

Welcome. Most of us here are CG (Curly Girl) or mod-CG. Generally, we avoid the use of sulfates and silicones in our products. Your hair looks nice as it is, so it depends on what you want to achieve. Your hair properties are going to be important in finding compatible products, and styling techniques will determine your end result. Many people here find scrunching and plopping help encourage wave and curl. Be sure to check the stickies in the general hair forum...there's newbie posts.
