Finally! Reaching my curl potential...

I'm not sure what it is, the humid weather, or maybe the months of patience in trying out CG routines and products, but I've had some very good hair days this week, today definitely being one of them. Therefore, I have to post these pics as evidence. :money:

Aww man, I really don't know if it's the weather or my products, but I'm hoping I've finally figured something out rather than just the humidity bringing out my curl.

In any case, because I swam in a chlorine pool today, I coated my hair with Viologie naturals conditioner (I think it's not CG, so I only use it before I swim), and used one of Kathymack's soap bars to wash my hair after my swim. After that I did a rinse with apple cider vinegar to prevent soap buildup that could happen with soap and hard water. Then I added some honey to my rinse out conditioner (Giovanni Smooth as Silk) and used that. After my shower I squeezed out a little water from my hair and added a nickel full of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Leave-in-Conditioner-p-936.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Leave-In-Conditioner]Curl Junkie Curl Assurance Leave-In conditioner[/buylink], then wrapped my hair in a microfiber towel for around 5-10min. Then I added lots of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Curl-Junkie-Curls-in-a-Bottle-p-995.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curl-Junkie-Curls-in-a-Bottle]Curl Junkie Curls in a Bottle[/buylink] to my hair and let air dry completely. At that point, I added some Spiral Solutions Firm Hold Gel with water to set the curl, and voila. : )

Thanks everyone for you compliments! : )

I'm still trying to figure out what works best for my hair, but I'm just happy to have days like this that remind me why I'm spending so much time devoted to this task!

I am worried a bit about the upcoming fall and winter... my hair is curliest (with proper products frizz is kept at a tolerable level) in high humidity. IAgirl - do you have trouble bringing out your curls in winter too?

Bringing out curls in winter? I don't know... I used to brush my hair and wash it every night. But it usually is less curly and more wavy in winter. Not completely, though. IA stands for Iowa, and we can have very cold, dry winters. We don't let our house get too dry and that helps a lot. I wear hats when I go outside and that helps a LOT. This winter I'm going to make myself a hat that doesn't flatten my hair like my beloved stocking cap. Winter, for me, is usually 4 months of hat hair :) Maybe I'll get back to you in 4 months now that I treat my hair less like a pair of old socks. Can't bear to think about winter.
