I miss ya'll
in Hair Type 2
Hey guys! I miss you all!
So I thought I'd come back and say hi!
Hello!
SO anyway, cause I know you guys wanna know, my favorite ultimate humidity Florida heck death summer products are....
Spiral Solutions Caitlin Condish -- after weeks of experimenting, this stuff is everything I need. Seriously, it is the one condish that actually smooths my hair. I thought it was too heavy at first, but after eliminating things, it wasn't this condish, it was one of the styling products I was using.
SS Curling whatever it is. LOL, you know the curl enhancing stuff in the pump bottle. I can never use too much. And it. works. every. time. I always know how my hair is going to come out.
Brocato Hold On styling gel. this is another unusual out-there gel that I haven't seen much about. It smells like fake blueberries. Before you guys get excited, it has the "c" cone in it. I have resorted to using some cones this summer -- because my hair just doesn't work in this high of dews (70-80) without some kind of sealing. My hair is too fine and thin to do the oil sealing, or I'd be down with that. Literally my hair was getting so rough it was unreal. Anyway, through a lot of experimenting I found that dimethicone and the other "hard core cones" still weren't what I need, and finally I stumbled upon the combination that I'm currently using (caitlin, ss curl enhancer, brocato) and I've been very happy!
Also, I am really loving using Curly Hair solutions roller clamp technique. I've almost got it down pat and it gives me volume for DAYS! I modified it for my fine/thin hair and I'm really happy.
I was actually having some summer success so I thought I'd pass it on!
How are you guys doing? Any luck with the summer heat? Some people get curlier in the summer, I seem to be getting straighter. I think its because the humidity is so extreme here and I have such a wimpy curl pattern. Too much water = flat.

You've been missed.
Stick around this time.
I've been able to use less product, actually. I've stopped PJ'ing so much, and am actually using pretty cheap stuff. Basically, CJDF and the KMF Whenever lowpoo rotated, Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture as a rinse out (or leave in), and Ecostyler Krystal. And I don't have to PT as much this summer. Aside from some occasional frizz, summer's been good to my poor waves.
Also, weird that your fine hair you doesn't find the Caitlin's too heavy - my hair that can take anything thinks it's too much in the humid months. I'm really hopeful about it for the fall and winter, though.

I don't, 90% of the time I have a frizzy hot mess on my head! Or well, I seriously have to change products every time the dew changes 10 or so degrees.
I've had to resort to the occasional cone too. I've used Brocato in the past, I'll have to check out that gel and see how it does. As for CEJ, OMG I can LOAD that stuff on and it holds all on it's own as long as the dews aren't in the upper 70-80's! I think I have three bottles of it...one 8 oz unscented, one 16 oz scented with the new fragrance and one 8 oz I swapped on the board in the old fragrance! LOL!

Does anyone else's hair do that? Go flat and frizzy in humidity?
I've been using Eco almost every time I do my hair, but I just used SS CEJ and FHG the other day and had great hair. I'm out of town for a wedding and hoping that the SS combo will come through for me!
And yay for Goob!

Go to the video's section. IF you have questions, feel free to ask. I think most people have abandoned the roller clamp tech because, like me, if you do it on super wet hair, you end up with weird bunches. But now that I do it on hair that's been diffused about 50% (or 25% sometimes) and then diffuse a little after I've taken out the clamps, I get insane volume. I LOVE it. It really helps with lift and lasts for 2nd day hair.
I really wanna make a video, but I don't think I have anything in the house that will take video (other than like 30 seconds of it lol)
So, can you use any jaw clip or does it have to be a special one?
