Hey Ladies Our Derriere Is Acceptable Now!

So in another off topic post Cali mentioned the Booty Pop and I was like "What the heck is that?" Well I just saw the commercial in the wee hours of the night and I immediately thought of a post from BGLH. I'm sure some of you have seen it already. It's crazy how some things about women of color become okay when TV says so. Like all of the naturals I'm seeing in commercials now, I love it though.

And can I just say Serena's body looks sick! Her hair on the other hand looks sick in a different way. :silent:

yeah... butts, lips are all the rage as long as it's viewed on someone else

    /sarcasm

those lip & butt injections have completely gone overboard in some folks, especially in entertainment. do folks actually think having fish pout lips to the extreme is sexy? injected butts so huge they look like they belong on someone 3x the size??? :goofy:

Man I go on the more "white" blogs such as TMZ and the comments on Serena's butt are always negative. They say dumb sh*t like "She needs to go on a diet" or "She needs lipo".

Now seeing that Serena is one of the top athletes in the world, I'm pretty sure she has a consistently healthy diet and a healthy body. Why the f*ck would she need to go on a diet for a body she can't control the shape of?

One of the threads I posted in that caused my ban on LHCF was about this video girl Bria Myles. They kept sayin the girl was fat and that the only men that would drool over a body like hers were men we wouldn't want to be seen with anyway. Now that was an extremely horrible and ignorant thing to say. First off the girl aint even fat. She has small waist, big hips and a big butt. But the girls on LHCF associated big butts with only getting ignorant ass men. wtf?

Is it sad that I want the Booty Pop panties? The only thing is, how the heck do you wash them without ruining them (I'm assuming you need to wash them after every use, just like normal underwear).

I think all of this stuff coming out it stupid...like Booty Pop? GTFOH. I personally do not have a big butt, and while I am not going to hate on women who have them, I do NOT want one. I got in a fight with my college roommate my frosh yr about this b/c I gained weight in my butt and I was like yea I need to work out...and she took offense like I thought every woman with a big a$$ was fat...uh, not the case, I just don't want one. Thanks.

Last week at the airport I saw this girl with collagen in her lips and it looked SO TERRIBLE I wanted to slap her. But, I didn't need to b/c her lips were so swollen it looked like she had just gotten Chris Browned. I am not against any kind of plastic surgery (do you), but my motto is, "Don't look to' up."

I have a large chest but small behind, so I think my figure would look more "evened out" if I had a bigger butt. I don't think I would ever spend the money on a product like that. If someone gave one to me for free, sure, I'll try it.

I have a large chest too, and a medium behind, i feel like i would be more evened out if my butt was bigger or if my chest were smaller. I envy smaller chested girls. Lucky. :/ So if my butt was bigger, then I wouldn't be too mad. But that's just me.

I'm afraid my ass is going flat. :sad11:I want more of a "C" and instead it looks like "V".....starts off alright but then there's a really steep decline. :goofy:

I was reading the comments and I really like the perspective that SL brought to the table.
Why do people expect the euro mainstream to elevate and validate something they don’t possess. Why should flat assed white girls be made to feel any more inferior than they already feel. Just because black culture is big on elevating features that are common place among other races (light skin, straight hair) and rare amongst blacks without much thought to the psychological effect on the masses of black people doesn’t mean that yts (whites..took me a minute, lol) are eager to do the same.

I don't have a big butt. I never really gave it too much thought because I'd probably look crazy if I had a big one...like I'd tip over.

I didn't know big butts were unacceptable. Some people have preferences for them, some against them. Why is this a big deal? This is annoying. Not the fact that this topic is on the forum, but the fact that people now want to say something is acceptable as if its a trend or some sh*t.

Body parts are now trending topics these days, great! Looks like I've been ahead of the trend for, oh Idk, maybe about 10 years when I hit puberty. It's nice to know that its publicly appreciated by the press! Finally! All the small booty chicks need to up their corn bread consumption or hit up that Nicki Minaj doctor.

AND END SARCASM. Where's a side eye smiley when you need one?

    This is some bulls**t.

Ya'll say what you want too about booty-pops:pottytrain1:. I remember being 5'10 at 16 with not a bump or curve, wearing pants (with shorts under them) and long shirts in the summer to hide my lack of body. I wish they had booty-pops 20 years ago when I needed them. Now I got booty poppin' out all over the place....

Better tell these lil skinny gals to be careful what they wish for, or the booty-pop monster will get them when they hit mid 30's. :blob6:
See that thing sleeping in the corner? That's my GoGo Dancer and the source of all the white hair on my head... I am not going gray, dammit!

I agree that bigger booties are in, but I highly doubt it is because of Serena.

In the article it highlights Kim Kardashian and JLo. If these ladies weren't sporting big behinds, it would still be seen as something negative. Notice how they said the "runners up" were Beyonce and Serena. Damn shame that black women can't even be highlighted for something that is common to them and their physique. The "prize" still goes to the white women. As long as the media has examples of our features on white women, then it is OK.

And yes I know JLo is Puerto Rican and Kim is Armenian but I am generalizing them into the lighter pigment/white spectrum since generally that is how they are viewed in the media's eye.

My mom says I was born with a big butt :p, and even in my skinner days it was big. I do have to watch my weight these days because it is one of the first places I gain. I can care less if the rest of society praises the butts of women of other races because black women have the best curves!!!!!!!!!
