Alex said on her blog that she is taking a break for the summer. I don't know about Goob. Before she left she posted that she had some stuff going on in her life (she wasn't specific). I hope they both come back and soon. I miss them and their knowledge.

I know!! I miss them :sad11: they were both really great help when I first strated out.

I know alexjoujou had settled down with SS products and no longer felt like she needed to experiment with products....she found the ones for her!! If only I could do that lol.

But you know what life is like...it catches up with you sometimes!

Me, too! And now that ya'll mention it, yeah, haven't seen Jess, Gekko, and Wavy Wonder either - although seems I might've seen Jess here and there a couple of times.

Hadn't thought to check Alexjoujou's blog - forgot about it to be honest. Like her, I'm pretty happy right now with all my SS stuff, but I still like to visit here at least every couple of days or so.

I know, I feel like so many of the people who helped me most when I was just starting out (and asking the same questions over and over) have moved on.

I know it's because they're happy with their hair, and that I post less than I used to for that reason. But I still miss seeing 'em around.

    Hi!

I did have crazy crap going on in my life. It has finally started to settle down. I also have fallen in love with SS stuff, so the product junkie in me died a little.

I also got a new dog, and true to form, I've been obsessing over dog things, scouring the internet for dog nutrition articles, cause you know, I have to have something to focus on lol.

I see Jess on FB, so I get a dose of her occasionally. I miss AJJ, I haven't seen or heard from her since april or so. I never imagined that Gekko wouldn't be around lol.

I took a summer stats class and got bronchitis in the middle of it. dear lord that was awful. I'm trying to enroll for the fall semester, but I don't know that its going to happen. The US Air Force changed their spouses tuition assistance program and since I'll be working on my bachelor's this fall, I may not qualify for it any longer. Oh well, I may just take a break. I think I need it lol.

I love you guys and it was nice to know you guys were thinking of me while I was gone. I was certainly thinking of you! I would occasionally think, "Oooh I bet pedah would like this" Or when I finally got my new glasses I meant to come post them here so Solid and Jess could approve of them lol.

I also thought several times, I wonder if Auntnett likes this product -- I have this odd suspicion that our hair is similar, but with one component different. You know, like that its fine with similar patterns, but different porosity, or that the humidity that I deal with just makes things a little bit off.

Hiya, Goob! Hope you're feeling better and glad things have settled down a little.

Yes, we do seem to have pretty similar hair, and I love me some Spiral Solutions, too! I've got plenty of humidity here in Atlanta, but probably not to the extent you do.

I go to Atlanta semi-often (in-laws live there) and its not quite as humid as it is here. Like one day I had spent most of the morning outside, cleaning up the back porch and using the power-washer on it. Well when I came in to take a shower my hair was fried. I really think the humidity + heat was like a day at the beach. I think the sustained humidity + heat really does an overall number on my hair. I don't know if that makes sense, but its the only thing I can figure. I know that sometimes us curlies will protect our hair with whatever our favorite concoction is before going to the beach. So maybe living in southern floridia is like going to the beach every day lol.

Soild! I'll take a pic of my glasses when I finally get the non-reflective coating in. My glasses broke and they were nice enough to give me cheapo lenses. Now I just gotta go back and get the good ones.

Goober:tweety:. Love the name. You can see how alert he is. Put down the stupid camera and throw the stick lady! Labs are just great dogs and so good with kids. The picture where they are cuddled together and sleeping is so freeking adorable. Good for you.
P.S. Ian is pretty cute too. You should keep him.

    Thanks ladies!

Goober is very alert -- he's so active its not even funny. Hubby calls him, "game to the bone" You pegged him on the "lady just throw the stick already". Ian was on the side of the dog -- right along with him. "Mom - mom can't I just throw the stick nOooOOOOow?"

Heidi -- how big is your dog? Goober seems to be holding out at 40 lbs. Smaller than we thought he was going to be, but the rescue had his age wrong too. We got him at 20 lbs and they said he was 12 weeks old -- I assumed he was going to be huge. Then we learned he was 20 weeks old (due to teeth he had in) so we just didn't have a clue. Well the vet told me at this most recent visit that they are done growing height at this age, and will only put on a couple of more pounds. So was just curious to see if your guy was border collie size or Lab size?

We got Ronon at 4.5 months and he weighed in at 24lbs, at 7 months he was 40lbs. He's 9 months old now probably about 45lbs at most (haven't weighed him recently) and he looks just like he did at 7mo sizewise. He's smaller then a Lab, closer to Border Collie size.

I haven't taken Goob swimming yet -- I am dying to take him to "pond day" at the local pet daycare (its really nice). Most lakes in florida won't allow dogs. And its a bad idea to take them swimming in any retention pond because of alagators. No lie. Also, for nearly 100 miles in either direction, no dogs on the beach either.

Heidi -- your furbaby is adorable! I can see the white under his nose and on his chest! soo cute.

Peda -- I totally forgot. What kinda furbaby do you have? I think I've seen a pic, but I can't remember.

My dog is 1/2 daschund and 1/2 mystery dog that likely contains some terrier. He only likes toys he can destroy and I only like the ones he can destroy slowly. I have to buy brand name tennis balls for my dog because it takes him longer to destroy them. Burns my butt. Brand name for the dog. Aaarg.

Adorable dogs! We have a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who we rescued when she was just under one year old. Her previous owner thought she was male and she answered to Duke! Other than that she wasn't abused at all and she's turned out to be a great pet.
