SS Beauties!! Ratio of CEJ to FHG, please?

justajesuschickjustajesuschick Posts: 1,657Registered Users Curl Neophyte
I am loving these products but the directions are a bit vague. Recognizing that all hair (length, thickness, porosity, etc.) requires different amounts, can you tell me what you use of these? I used the CEJ on very wet hair, scrunched with a CLU cloth and then added FHG.
  • How many pumps do you use of CEJ on what length hair?
  • Do you mix these two together and apply once? On very wet hair?
I appreciate hearing your usage to make certain that I am using enough-or am not wasting product!

I am also going to see if I can get the FHG in a squeeze bottle. I hate digging into jars of any product!
Thank you!!!!!!

Thanks! I also posted in general and got a LOT of good feedback!

I appreciate your nice comments! I am surprised what a difference 3 weeks has made. Got my SS products today (I just had samples) and tonight my hair is very happy. What ever SS is selling, my hair is buying it!

Will try my third PT this weekend. Think that I am finally finding products best for me!
Thanks again for all of your help and patience in answering so many of my newbie posts!

That is a common opinion among fine haired wavies.

You're welcome. Lots of people helped me when I was new (and still do). I'm sure you will help other newbies. It is the circle of life.

I've only had samples myself, though I have experimented a little. I can't say I remember much of a difference using them separately or together. I think I ended up using more FHG, but that was in part on my rake and shake experiment. I guess it depends on how much hold you want. More hold=more FHG. You might try even amounts of each (you might want to mix these due to the different nature of the gels) and then maybe add more of one and see how it is and then reverse it. Curious to see what others say. Maybe Runner will chime in and give her thoughts. :)

Glad SS is working for you; we all have a love for SS here.

For me, I use all FHG and no CEJ, but this is for summer, it can change for winter, or I just didn't find the right ratio either lol.

I think that I used too much and I missed some spots!! I think that I will use a bit less of each but then a bit more on top and crown after I flip my head back up. I think the missed is me trying to apply all with hair flipped upside down over my tub.
My hair is VERY happy-and might I even add that I have a couple of actual CURLS!!
    Now considering her other products!

I hate when I miss spots. I do it all the time. I did try sectioning my hair, and I think that got more coverage, but it took a long time.

I used up my CEJ and didn't buy more as it didn't do much for me, FSG was way better.
I love FHG and will continue to buy. I use 3-4 quarter sized glops. I agree a squeeze bottle would be much easier to work with.
I don't know if you've tried Caitlin's Condish but it is awesome, I diluted it and put it in a bottle, love it!
