Has anyone used it? http://www.crockettcompany.com./products.html I'm curious if it actually loosens the curl (and if so, by how much) without the harsh damage. Thanks :?:

I haven't tried it, but it sounds like a mild relaxer to me...

You can only use it on new growth, you have to use a neutralizing shampoo, it's permanent and you have to get a touch up every 4 to 6 weeks...

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..... LOL!

Scroll down to Imanelle's comment (#30) for her review :) She's had it done twice.

Used it and loved it!!!!! I have been all natural since Halloween 2008, my hair ranges from 4a-4c depending on where you are on my head. My hair dresser recommended new options and I was hesitant but I tried it. My have straightens much easier and nicer. I have NOT lost any curl at all though some seem more loose. My hair is softer and more frizz resistant. Prior to using it mist.....the worst kind of rain was pointless in fighting, now it doesnt even phase my hair. I can keep it straight in the winter and curly in the summer!

I have used the alkaline mineral softener. When I was transitioning from the relaxed to go natural my stylist suggested the new options mineral softer so that my new growth would become softer and have less breakage. I have very coarse hair and I loved it. There is two products offered by new options, a relaxer and an alkaline mineral softener. It depends on what u want o achieve. If u want a straight look then you want he relaxer but if you want to wear your hair natural then the mineral softener is the way to go. The softener will only loosen your curls. I recently reapplied the softener because I hadn't had it in my hair for a while with the new growth my hair felt like it was just a big knot. It's a great product.8)

Is your hair natural or texturized?
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

Never heard of it. I'm skeptical though...it still sounds like chemical processing to me. And if it is, that's cool. Just don't try to make up fancy names or use different language to disguise its true mechanisms.

But like I said, I've never heard of it, so I could be all types of wrong.

I feel exactly the same way. Grown people can do what they want but I don't like slick labelling and advertising. I think they should call it what it is. I'm going to look at the product more but if it is true someone has to use a neutralizer with this product then their hair is not natural, it is chemically processed.
