Co-Washing and Pool Hair

I think I'm ready to try at least a modified co-washing routine, but I'm concerned about what I call "pool hair". During the summer, I swim in a salt water pool almost every day. Can I still co-wash only? What about when I travel and the only pool available is a chlorine pool?

TIA

I think that in those cases it's just easier to use a clarifying shampoo, but who knows, my shampoo has dead sea water XD. But I'm subscribing just in case.

Saturate your hair with water, and apply conditioner before you get in the pool. When you get out, co-wash.

    It works great for me.

    I agree with Morgan_Adcock

The conditioner will provide some protection from the pool chemicals and prevent your hair from drying out.

I've never had any problems just a co-wash after swimming in either a salt water or chlorinated pool. I don't swim everyday though so I can't vouch for the more regular swimmers around here.

Funny, Morgan_Adcock and Jessielee, that's exactly what I ended up doing this morning. So far, so good. My curls seem a little more relaxed than yesterday, but still happy. Thanks for your answers.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I saw this at Sally's today- "swimmer's clarifying treatment": http://www.sallybeauty.com/swimmers-treatment/SBS-302026,default,pd.html

If you are OK with an occasional low-poo, they also have this sulfate-free swimmer's shampoo:

There is a "matching" conditioner, but it has 'cones... :-?
I'm thinking of getting the shampoo for the summer... I do a bit of swimming in the ocean and spend the occasional day at the (chlorinated) pool. Hope this helps!

That does help - thank you.
