hair dressers & natural curls

Ok, I have a natural wave pattern. I can use Miss Jessie's, Ecco & castor oil to bring it out. However, everytime I go to the hair dresser, they say they need to put my hair on rods to get it to curl.

Why is this?

Maybe that service costs a bit more dunno.

I have rarely had a good stylist until I started going to Ouidad and even then there are some to beware of.

Very few stylists know how to manage natural hair, particularly the natural tresses of women of color. You know/understand your hair at this point wayyyy better than any stylist. Perhaps you should take this opportunity to teach them or...

just keep them on as sentinels (watchers of damage, trim/cut when needed) and do your own styling.

these are the same people who try to convince me that they cannot do my hair until I agree to get a perm, and yet, I can get my hair presentably straight with a blow dryer alone on low heat. The same people who, when they do try, burn my hair straight with 400 degrees without even trying to start with a low setting. They are just lazy.

That's a sign that they have no clue what to do with natural hair.
