question about rem spring

yogawavesyogawaves Registered Users Posts: 368
Hi,
I got my rem spring about a week or so ago. I used it on my chin and it seemed to work fine(lst time)
but, this time it seemed like one of my darker hairs broke off, in other words it didn't remove it at the root.
I obviously am using it wrong. I watched the video and read the directions, anyone have any advice , pointers? thanks in advance.
I am also having a problem using in on the side of the neck, I can't get it against the skin.

I don't have any trouble w/hairs breaking off, but I only use it on my upper lip. I use it the exact same way you see on the video. I'm sorry -- I know that is of no help at all.

Those pesky chin hairs...sometimes they are just going to break off at the skin line, because that's what they do, not because you are doing anything wrong. Hairs in that area are notoriously stiff and thick and brittle, especially as we age. Lots of women have trouble with them becoming inflamed and causing scars. I use a tweezer for the big chin hairs and the spring thing just for the fine downy hairs. If I have a chin hair break at the skin line, I give it a tiny squeeze and sometimes the hair comes out that way. If it doesn't, I leave it alone, give the area a good exfolation when I wash my face and an application of BHA or lactic acid, and try to pull it out in a day or two, after it has had time to grow a bit.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I thought this was easier than creating a spin-off and referencing this one.

RCW, I'm curious what the purpose of the BHA and lactic acid is. I have lots of coarse black hairs on my chin that I pluck daily, but I tend to get a little aggressive and pick at the area too, so my chin is a mess. Do the BHA or lactic acid help to heal the area?

The acids help exfoliate the area and keep the pores from being as clogged, and just helps keep skin clearer in general. When a hair follicle is plugged, there may be bits of hair in there, but also oil and dirt. Acids help exfoliate that stuff out of there. I REALLY try not to squeeze and scrape, because that just makes matters worse. Let the acids do the work.

Thanks for the info! Yes, scraping and squeezing makes it 100x worse, my chin is really scarred from it. I always tell myself I'm going to stop and not care if there are tiny black dots under the surface, but it never works.

Where do you get the BHA and lactic acid?

Love, love, love the rem spring. Just got it yesterday. (Used it immediately and then my BF picked me up to take me out to dinner--I spent the meal hiding my face behind my hands because my upper lip was red.) It is the best facial hair remover I've ever tried, and it is so much better than waxing or Nair-ing.

That was phase one; phase two is RCW's method! I'm on my way to beautiful skin.

I tried mine the first day I got it and haven't gone back to it since then. Glad I have it in the house, just as an alternative.

I am doing better at this point with Avon facial hair removal cream and/or little trimmer that I got from Sally's.
