Coconut oil and gel

So I've discovered the wonders of coconut oil. I just got a bottle of vrgin coconut oil from the health food store and I've been using it all week. My hair has never felt better!! SO soft and well-defined. One catch....... I use it with Fantasia IC gel and every time I put he two together I end up with a sticky white mess that looks absolutely awful until it dries. Now I'm in love with both of them and I don't want to give either of them up.... but I'm thinking the Fantasia IC may have to go. Does anyone know of a gel similar to fantacia that won't go all white and icky when paired with coconut oil?

Thats interesting...I actually mixed the 2 together in the IC jar (I added a few tablespoons of coconut oil). I always got fabulous results. It was white in the jar, but dried clear...I never had any residue, and my curls were soft and well-defined. I only stopped using it because I think gel may be to heavy for my hair.

lenabena, i just posted basically the same problem in the coconut oil thread on this board. i also used it with fantasia and got white stuff, but i really didnt like fantasia at all, so i went back to the gel i always go back to, which is ecostyler. but i still got white stuff, so i stopped using the cocnut oil. the funny thing is when i used cocnut milk as a leave in, i didn't get any white stuff, but its kind of messy to handle, if im not doing it in the shower
