Soothing Eczema

I woke up Friday morning with four nice-sized patches of eczema on my arms, leg, and neck :|. My dermatologist gave me an ointment to put on it which is great but I find that when I put it on in the morning it burns like the fires of hell. I am assuming this is from all of the rubbing and scratching I do in my sleep because it doesn't hurt when I reapply later in the day. So does anyone know of anything that could take care of the burning?

Hair Type: Typing has never been my forte but there are medium curly bits and small curly bits and x-small curly bits and they all seem to get along

    Do you put it on before bed? That's the only suggestion I have, if you don't.

    As far as the cream goes, try applying after you pat dry from a shower and your skin is a bit damp, that may help lessen the stinging and help prevent the tugging and pulling on your already stressed out skin.

    Not sure but I've found the medicine works and it burns less as the eczema starts to heal. It usually does burn when it's kind of raw.

    Dr. Oz says Tamanu oil is good for skin and ezcema and such. It has antibiotic properties.

    CoWash: VO5 kiwi
    Cond: Robert Craig, Tresemme Natural, or Fekkai Shea Butter

    A few things you can try :
    1) Blend some soft quaker oats in a blender until it becomes powdery, then mix some of the powder with some honey and a little bit of water. Applying it for a short while (about 5 to 10 minutes) before showering, is very soothing.
    2) unrefined shea butter, melt a little till it's liquid and apply.
    3) honey - just rubbing some honey is also very soothing.

    I first heard about it from The People's Pharmacy some years back.
