I am new and I have 2a hair so I am always looking for anything that can make my waves more curly, you see what I mean?
In your experience what really improoved your waves into curls?
My hair don't frizz, they just miss volume and vigourus curls.

I live in Paris and I am italian so I apologise for my english.

    Hi supergatto1-
    1. Far and away the best thing I ever did for my hair to add curl is to follow the curly girl (CG) method. Here is the CG before and after picture thread
    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/showthread.php?t=47609
and here is a blog post on how to follow the method
    http://dormroomcurly.blogspot.com/2008/12/style-definitions-table.html

    2. Coconut oil. Putting coconut oil in my hair over night on days I wash really adds moisture, and thus adds curl.

    3. The pixie curl method of diffusing.
    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/showthread.php?t=34025&highlight=pixiecurl+method

    4. Honey in normally humid conditions (not dry or super humid). I mix my rinse out conditioner 50%/50% with warm honey. I've also had good luck recently adding a dot of warm honey to my gel.

    5. Getting a gel with enough hold. My hair requires a lot of hold. Without a strong gel, my waves would droop by the end of the day. Not everyone needs this much hold.

The best thing for enhancing curl/volume for me is using a diffuser right after I shower or plop, otherwise the weight of my hair and the water stretches out the curls into waves as it dries. If you diffuse with your head upside down, it also helps to add volume.

Like Pedaheh said, having properly moisturized hair really helps, so using a good conditioner in the shower and as a leave-in and using the right amount will help a lot.

In terms of product, I have gotten the best curls when I use [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] ([buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]Kinky Curly Curling Custard[/buylink]) or SSCEJ (Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly) with a hard hold gel on top and diffuse.

I'm not sure if you'd be able to get the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] anywhere in Paris but they sell in from a British Website http://store.britishcurlies.co.uk/categories.php?category=Kinky%252dCurly
The SSCEJ you'd have to order from etsy and have shipped from the US. It might be worth looking into if nothing else works.

Spiral solutions store is shutdown for about 2 weeks. I would say if you order her curl enhancing jellie get her firm hold styling gel as well.

I use the gel as a curl cream by using more product than it tells you to. I use 3 good size blobs. I am 2c but easily get 3a curls from the gel. I think it would be worth the wait for her store to reopen.

Hmm I have both SSCEJ & SSFHG but I haven't used the FHG yet. I think I'll have to try this.

 Welcome to the community supergatto1! I agree with pedaheh - my curls have greatly improved using the CG (Curly Girl) method! Most of us here on naturallycurly.com don't use any sulfates or silicones.

I suggest you try making your own FSG (Flax Seed Gel). It is really easy to do, very cheap, and is the best volumizer and curl enhancer I've found! I read that they are called Linseeds in the UK if you can't find Flax seeds.

I like to use the scrunch-and-pump method of distributing products evenly and promoting curl. I do this upside down in soaking wet hair: rub LI (leave in) in the palms of my hands and scrunch and pump each section of hair 8 times making sure you pump all the way to the roots. First I do the middle on the top, edges of the top, then tilt my head over to the side getting the sides and back, then tilt my head over to do the other side and back. First I do this with LI, then FSG, then a bit of gel for hold.

I gently pat out the water with a microfiber towel (regular towels are known to cause frizz). Let air dry 10-15 minutes and diffuse upside down about 50%. Then right side up, I clip the roots in the crown and diffuse with cool air. I do this process every 2-3 days. Some of us posted our 2nd day hair routines here.

Before I discovered FSG, I was using mousse which helps enhance curls and adds volume. I don't know if you can get them in Paris, but they're listed in my signature. I used the same method, but I layered LI, mousse, curl creme, gel.

Please don't get ovewhelmed by all the information! Everything you want to know about curly hair you can find here. The search bar is a great place to look. Please feel free to ask any questions if there is something you don't understand!

I think your English is great!!!!! Thank you for joining the community! :hello1:

    wow
I have a lot of things to try out now and I can't wait to see what will look on me.
I defently look better with curly hair, it really suits my face so I will try anythink to have beautiful curls.
I love the pictures of the before/after, they give me hope.
In Italy some friends of mine do the last rinse with cold water and brewer's yeast wich is supposed to add volume. Did anybody try?

In the USA you have sooooooooooooo many more products for curls than here.
The [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]kinky curly curling custard[/buylink] is very tempting me but the box is quite big and expensive, so if it doesn't work...???

    THANK YOU

    I am wavy.
Any kind of gel or mousse, plus scrunching and diffusing, will make my hair curly. Without diffuser it's a little looser but still curly if I scrunch it, but I like more volume and diffuser helps with that.

Lots of conditioner and good care makes it healthier, but didn't make mine any curlier. Prettier though since it's in good shape.
