So dull... Need help!!!

Hey everyone. It's been a while... And I need help....
My hair always looks soooo dull.. no shine at all! It may look a little shiny the day after I've cowashed/washed, but thats it(and it always looks so funny the day after anyway..)
I don't really have a set reg, I usually cowash it once a week, once(or shampoo when i feel it needs it every couple of weeks) with the Alberto v05 condish(yea the cheap $1 condish), put in my homemade DC (HEHH, GF Triple Nutrition, and Honey) and leave it in for about 2 hrs. I detangle after I put in the DC. Then I rinse, (sometimes use v05 again), put in some condish as a leave in (either GFTN, Aussie Moist, HEHH, or GFSS), seal with Smooth n' Shine Hair Polisher, and T&C. It takes over a day to dry.. So... any tips on how to get shinier hair? I'd also like some growth tips.

Merci!:blob2:

Do you use virgin coconut oil? Coconut oil adds a ton of shine to my daughters hair.

    The Vitamin Shoppe

I usually buy their brand, works great.

You can also find it at Whole Foods, Health Food stores, etc.

The Garnier Fructis leave in made my hair dull...like it had a film or something. May be the cones. Anyhow, amla changed my life in terms of shine. Tried Henna but was too involved of a process even though it gave good shine.
Now that I do amla treatments once or twice a month I get compliments all the time on how rich & shiny my hair looks.

And realize that natural hair should have a good healthy sheen but it wont be like the shine you have from your relaxed hair. Its the way our hair reflects the light. Good luck!

When my hair lacked shine/sheen I was told I may need a protein treatment which I did and it helped

Not all natural hair will have shine. Depending on your texture you hair may not be able to "shine" without applying products. I know my hair for example does not look shiny, but has more of a sheen to it.

There is a difference between shine and sheen and if your hair is the type of hair that will have sheen, trying to make it look shiny is futile unless you load your hair with glossers or some other type of oil based product.

Maybe some of the other ladies can give examples if hair that shines versus hair that has sheen.

I have 4b hair that does the same thing. I found that my hair will never look shiny like when it's straight. Instead it has sheen. Also coconut oil really helps. Not to sound crazy but the longer I go without washing with shampoo the duller it looks. So co washing all the time isn't the best for my hair.
