Hey Curly Chicks,

I just moved from NY to Orlando, FL. I am pretty close to Disney. Does anyone know any good salons for natural hair?

Thanks-
Jeanette

Welcome to the Sunshine State. I also moved from NY to FL (but a loooong time ago). :)

While I'm not in your area--I'm farther south in Miami area--you should look at these:

    1. the salon reviews (very slight, and I hope Orlando folks will submit more salons to this, as will Miami folks, hint, hint) http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons/search/219/United%20States/27/Florida/Orlando

    2. You're not the first to ask this question. Check the Orlando salon thread search: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/search.php?searchid=4100187

Hope you find a great salon! I'm on the hunt myself after losing my stylist of 22 years to retirement due to her health issues. :(

And prepare for a very hot summer. Yuck.

I am back with my stylist of 31 years and very happy about my choice..

I had 3 different stylists who were "curly" trained cut / trim / curly cut my hair...
I was not pleased at all with 2 of them and the 3rd was ok,...

My 31 year stylist who is located at The RDB Sports Complex /Center in Maitland, 15 minutes east of Universal / International Drive by I-4. RDB salon has a wonderful curly sylist who has been cutting curly hair long before it was vogue to be a curly stylist...
I will have to ask this person if I can place there name on this board..

Once I have permission I will PM you with the information.

15 minutes if you strap a rocket to your car at 3am...:P

Or there's no traffic...which is all the time, right? :P

Ok, all joking aside, Maitland is a good 30-40 minutes (or more sometimes) from Disney area by car. Don't even think of taking Lynx.

    Welcome to Florida!
Lunatic Fringe in Altamonte Springs has a stylist named Luisa who is a miracle worker. She makes curls look amazing. I highly recommend her. I'm biracial with really thick 3b/3c hair that has some heat and chemical damage. When I left the salon my hair looked great and healthy. Luisa made my hair look the best I have ever seen it. She patiently listens to your hair history and what you want and then delivers. I cannot praise her enough. My cut and wash was only $40.
