I voted in the middle. And MY "in the middle" means shoulder length, maybe a tad shorter.
I like my hair best that way. It stays healthy, doesn't over power me and it isn't "work" to make it look nice.
Frames my face the best too.

I voted long; for me, somewhere between shoulder length and BSL.

I would like to see what my hair looks like both curly and long.

I'd also like to benefit from the styling ease that longer hair would give my thick curls. The added weight from the extra length tends to add control.

Ditto! :D But I'm going to try growing it longer than shoulder again for a while, just for a change.

    I voted longer.

Short gives me the Orphan Annie look.

I like shoulder length, but that is an awkward length for me to put up for "military hair" and have it still look good and in regulations. Just a couple of inches below the shoulders makes it easier. I'm around BSL now, and while the back is not as curly as my shorter sides, I still like it.

I voted "long". My hair is currently hip length when straightened. I don't use a brush, but I don't think it's necessarily harder to comb or style. It just takes longer.

Dayum, you have some great curls. Your ends in the back remind me of what mine are doing lately...

I voted medium. It's great for my hair now, and since going CG, my hair's been doing awesome at this length! Though I am growing it out during the winter months, so I'll see what happens. My opinion may change :P

It's The Body Shop Banana Conditioner. It's my favorite, but sadly it's discontinued.

    Thanks mitabird.

Figures about the condish. The banana piqued my interest for a second there.

    Thanks!

If I could get the length you have that would be cool. Yours still looks very healthy at that length. As seen on the recent "how long is too long" thread, finding long and healthy hair can be a rare thing! It's cool to see that you haven't seem to lose a lot of curl in the back.

I voted medium. I absolutely hate short hair on me and long hair is too hard for me to manage. Plus my hair curls best at shoulder length. So shoulder length and layered is perfect for my hair.

    Long.
My head is too big for short hair, plus it sticks out too much when it's short so i need the length to weigh it down - A painful lesson i learned when i was 9

I do prefer longer hair, but tend to agree w/ Kurlee. When my hair got past the over the shoulder point, it started looking scraggly. I'm going to try to grow it that way again, keeping my shorter layers in through & see how that looks :)

I voted long. I just love long hair, always loved it. I normally wear it long, just past BSL and a little longer. Right now I'm in the dreaded in between stage. My hair is a little past my shoulders. I have only been wearing it curly since June. Before when my hair long I'd only wear it straight. So I'm excited to wear my hair long and curly. There aren't many long curly heads walking around these days, not here anyway. So when I do see one I just fall in love and kinda have to keep myself from staring!

Mitabird, you know I am your biggest fan    !!!!!! I would give both arms and legs to have your hair!!!

My hair is easier to keep long. That being said I have to not cut it for ages to get it past bsl. My head is too big for short hair and my curls look better at a longer length.
I think the only real difference is the drying time and amount of product used. But then my hair isn't as long as mitabirds so if I ever get to that length I'll revise this :D

Generally speaking I prefer mine long. But I like to go short every now and then, and I'm thinking about it for next spring (short for me is shoulder-length or slightly shorter). It annoys me when it's in between, it's such an "eh" length on me. I don't maintain it at a medium length, it means I'm growing out a short cut- so I'm wishing it would grow faster! lol

It's actually easier for me to care for it when it's longer. I mean, conditioning and stuff is a breeze when it's short, but it also takes work to make sure it doesn't get huge and make me look like a mushroom! It's difficult to keep down the volume when there's no weight to it.

ETA: When I say long I mean, ummm, maybe 3 inches or so past my shoulders, and beyond. And it looks like my idea of short is most people's idea of medium! Really short hair doesn't work on me. It's barely curly at that length, and overall kinda boring.

I'm still experimenting with what length works best for my hair so I didn't vote. Medium(shoulder length) hair worked really well for my curls. But I feel like growing my hair out long just to see what it will look like. I have a feeling my curls will get stretched out but I really want to see anyways. I love long hair!

And I'm dittoing (is that a real word?) you CurliLocks. I'm trying to grow longer but I know I'll end up with shoulder length as that seems to suit me best.

I voted for medium which for me means between bsl and belly button. But I used to have butt length hair, so for me this is medium!

My hair looks much nicer when it's long. I just can't get it there! It's taking forever and I've given up so many times I wonder if it isn't impossible for me.

I said long, yet I always have my hair short. I end up cutting it short b/c it's easier to care for, and it's healthier, and I figure, hey, it's cute. But whenever I see pictures I'm totally aware that it looks better ON ME when it's longer.

I've been noticing that people on t.v. and stuff, when they have their hair short vs. long, it looks much better with their face when it's long.

I voted long, which to me is bsl length or to the middle of the back. Bellybutton length and longer is not so attractive to me though.
