How to NOT bleach hair??

I haven't been on in forever... but I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how to keep hair from bleaching in the sun? I know must people want their hair to get bleached, but I really want mine to stay dark.

I've heard that you can mix sunscreen into your conditioner, has anyone tried that?? I'm trying to stay CG, so are there any sunscreens that are at least relatively CG?

(very low cost is helpful :laughing9:)

Get yourself some cute hats! There's really nothing you can do to keep your hair from lightening up in the sun. Sunscreens aren't going to do all that much except provide a little protection. You can slather leave-in conditioner in your hair before heading out and that will help keep some moisture in your hair but the only thing that will really help is to protect your color is to keep it covered. I go to the Caribbean every year as well as 1 or 2 other beach vacations during the year and I try to keep a hat on my head while I'm out in the sun. I don't like anything on my head so it doesn't last long and my hair still ends ups up much lighter by the time I come home. I do put a lot of leave-in conditioner in my hair before heading to the beach and water and that helps keep it healthy but doesn't help much with the color.

A hat or a scarf. I don't think there's any other way to completely prevent sun-bleaching.
