Protein Sensitive?

Hi. I am new to the CG method. I am using Deva lopoo, cond1, be-leave in, and arcangel. Worked at first, now I am not getting much curl. How would I know if my hair didn't like protein? Thanks for any help.

Generally protein sensitivity will be noticed after an intensive protein treatment. Your hair will get noticably crunchy, poofy, and feel dry (like straw). Note this is different from using a protein treatment without moisturising afterwards (you must always use a DT after a PT). Protein sensitivity doesn't normally involve curl pattern, though it can.

For my money, what's going on with you sounds more like buildup of some sort. Do any of your products have silicones in them?

Thanks for replying. I was using Redken fresh curls, but I switched to Deva after I saw the cones in redken. It's only been a week since I started the no poo routine. I skipped the be-leave in this morning and its a little better.

Did you clarify before starting with the Deva? Conceivably, it could be some residual build-up from the Redken.

I did not clarify before I started. Also found out my Ouidad styling spray had dimethicone. I started over and things seem to be going better. Learning alot on this site.
