Is the L'oreal sulfate free shampoo actually sulfate free?

I'm pretty new to the whole CurlyGirl thing and need to find a sulfate free shampoo to use a couple times a week. Upon reading the ingredients of L'oreal's Ever Pure sulfate free shampoo I discovered that there are ingredients in it that I found on a list of "common sulfates".

The L'oreal shampoo contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate.

This is the list from the Curly Girl Method Wiki I've been using...Some common sulfates are Alkylbenzene sulfonate, Ammonium laureth or lauryl sulfate, Ammonium or Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium cocoyl sarcosinate, Sodium laureth, myreth, or lauryl sulfate, Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, TEA-dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Ethyl PEG-15 cocamine sulfate, and Dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.

So, does anybody know what's up with this shampoo? I bought it but now I'm scared to use it!

I'm also wondering if this shampoo is really sulfate free. I started using it not too long ago and I definitely got that same "squeaky clean" feeling after using a sulfate shampoo. It makes my hair look great, but I want to make sure I'm not damaging it.

Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (aka Lathanol LAL, SLSA, Sodium dodecyl sulfoacetate)
    Avoid

Increases foam, and is a cleanser. Said to be more mild than sodium lauryl sulfate, but is still a drying cleanser. Can strip hair of color.

I think classifying can get very fuzzy.
Some people classify them as sulfates, some say they're just surfactants.
I find the shampoo very gentle and moisturizing. It's the combination of ingredients that can have an impact on whether it works, or whether it's drying/damaging, etc.

I like Everpure. It does amodimethicone in the shampoo, though. That doesn't bother me, but it might for some curly gals.
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

Shoot, and I use this once a week on my hair. But it is the most gentle shampoo I have ever used and my hair likes it, so I'm going to keep on using it. I don't use it too too often.

ive used this shampoo and liked it.. the sulfates arent whats bad about it.. my hair didnt mind, but this stupid shampoo has silicones in it! What kind of sense does it make to put silicones in a sulfate free shampoo? ugh.. fail

& will say i stopped using it only because of that, i liked the shampoo & what it did to my alot.. but at the time i was using it i wore it mostly straight if that makes a difference

It's a pain finding a shampoo completely sulfate free, there are very very few, some brands are a hoax like Loreal because they don't have sulfate but keep sulfur, sulfonate, and bubbly cleaners in the ingredients, Loreal has other cleaners on the ingredients, just not sulfate. Burts Bee's is a great shampoo because it doesn't have ammonium sulfur, sulfate, etc. it's all natural, and doesn't have any bad shampoo ingredients. it's a little pricy but worth it.

I was gonna buy some of this stuff til I had seen mineral oil in some of the shampoos and conditioner. This was even before i went CG I have tried for the past few years to stay away from cones and mineral oils in my hair.
